Abstract

A method and device for reproducing contents of a mobile terminal having a touch screen, including: displaying on the touch screen a list of items corresponding to a plurality of contents stored in the mobile terminal; detecting a touch input to an item displayed in the list; displaying on the touch screen a reproduction screen display having a location and a size corresponding to a determined touch input location; and one of reproducing an entirety of a content corresponding to the touched item and reproducing only a portion of the content corresponding to the touched item in the reproduction screen display according to a detected touch type.

Claims

1. A method for reproducing contents of a mobile terminal having a touch screen, comprising:

displaying on the touch screen a list of items corresponding to a plurality of contents stored in the mobile terminal;

detecting a touch input to an item displayed in the list;

displaying on the touch screen a reproduction screen display having one of a location and a size corresponding to a determined first touch input location; and

one of

reproducing an entirety of a content corresponding to the touched item in response to a first touch type of the touch input, and

reproducing only a portion of the content corresponding to the touched item in the reproduction screen display in response to a second touch type of the touch input.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the step of displaying a reproduction screen display comprises:

dividing at least a portion of the screen display into four or more regions by using a point at which the touch input was detected as a crossing of x and y axes; and

displaying the reproduction screen image in the largest one of the divided regions.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the first touch type is one of a single touch and a multiple touch, and the second touch type is another of the single touch and the multiple touch.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the multiple touch comprises one of a two sequential touches and two simultaneous touches.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the first touch type is one of a short touch and a long touch, and the second touch type is another of the short touch and the long touch.

The method of claim 1, wherein the first touch type is one of a touch to a first region of the touch screen and a touch to a second region of the touch screen, and the second touch type is another of the touch to the first region of the touch screen and the touch to the second region of the touch screen.

7. The method of claim 6, wherein the touch to the second region of the touch screen is a touch to an icon displayed on the touch screen.

8. The method of claim 6, farther comprising:

removing the reproduction screen display when the touch input is no longer detected.

9. A mobile terminal having a memory, comprising:

a display module having a touch screen; and

a controller operatively connected to the display module and configured to

display on the touch screen a list of items corresponding to a plurality of contents stored in the memory;

detect a touch input to an item displayed in the list;

display on the touch screen a reproduction screen display having one of a location and a size corresponding to a determined first touch input location; and

one of

reproduce an entirety of a content corresponding to the touched item in response to a first touch type of the touch input, and

reproduce only a portion of the content corresponding to the touched item in the reproduction screen display in response to a second touch type of the touch input.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the controller is configured to

divide at least a portion of the screen display into four or more regions by using a point at which the touch input was detected as a crossing of x and y axes;

and

display the reproduction screen image in the largest one of the divided regions.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the first touch type is one of a single touch and a multiple touch, and the second touch type is another of the single touch and the multiple touch.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the multiple touch comprises one of a two sequential touches and two simultaneous touches.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the first touch type is one of a short touch and a long touch, and the second touch type is another of the short touch and the long touch.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the first touch type is one of a touch to a first region of the touch screen and a touch to a second region of the touch screen, and the second touch type is another of the touch to the first region of the touch screen and the touch to the second region of the touch screen.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 14, wherein the touch to the second region of the touch screen is a touch to an icon displayed on the touch screen.

16. The mobile terminal of claim 14, wherein the controller is configured to remove the reproduction screen display when the touch input is no longer detected.
