Abstract

A communication device, computer program product and method of providing location information therein are disclosed. The communication device includes a wireless communication unit for receiving location information on another communication device and a controller for setting location based information on another communication device using the received location information, and controlling the set location based information to be displayed.

Claims

1. A communication device, comprising:

a wireless communication unit configured to receive location information about another communication device; and

a controller connected to the wireless communication unit and configured to set location based information on another communication device using the location information received from the wireless communication unit.

2. The communication device of claim 1, further comprising:

a display connected to the controller, wherein

the controller is configured to cause the display to display the set location based information.

3. The communication device of claim 2, wherein

the controller is configured to set a display mode on the display for the location based information.

4. The communication device of claim 3, wherein the location based information comprises at least one of:

location information based on an absolute location of the another communication device,

location information based on a relative location of the another communication device, and

location information based on the relative location and the absolute location of the another communication device.

5. The communication device of claim 4, wherein the controller is configured to select the another communication device from a plurality of other communication devices in accordance with a prescribed reference.

6. The communication device of claim 4, wherein the controller is configured to

set one of a plurality of display modes, and

cause the display to display the location based information in correspondence with the set display mode.

7. The communication device of claim 6, wherein the controller is configured to cause the display to display the location based information using at least one of

a screen division display mode,

a popup display mode,

an OSD (on screen display) display mode, and

a tag selection display mode.

8. The communication device of claim 4, wherein the controller is configured to hierarchically set the location based information to correspond to a resolution set for the another communication device.

9. The communication device of claim 8, wherein the controller is configured to set the resolution in accordance with permission level established between the communication device and the another communication device.

10. The communication device of claim 1, the controller is configured to cause the display to display updated location based information when the another communication device is determined to have changed location.

11. A method of providing location information in a communication device, comprising of:

receiving location information about another communication device;

setting location based information on another communication device using the received location information; and

displaying the set location based information.

12. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

setting a display mode for the location based information.

13. The method of claim 12, wherein step of setting location based information comprises at least one of:

setting the location information based on an absolute location of the another communication device;

setting the location information based on a relative location of the another communication device; and

setting the location information based on the relative location and the absolute location of the another communication device.

14. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

selecting the another communication device from a plurality of other communication devices in accordance with a prescribed reference.

15. The method of claim 13, further comprising:

setting one of a plurality of display modes; and

displaying the location based information in correspondence with the set display mode.

16. The method of claim 15, wherein the step of setting one of a plurality of display modes comprises:

setting a screen division display mode;

setting a popup display mode;

setting an OSD (on screen display) display mode; and

setting a tag selection display mode.

17. The method of claim 13, wherein the step of setting location based information on another communication device comprises:

hierarchically setting the location based information to correspond to a resolution set for the another communication device.

18. The method of claim 17, wherein the step of hierarchically setting comprises:

set the resolution in accordance with permission level established between the communication device and the another communication device

19. The method of claim 11, further comprising:

displaying updated location based information when the another communication device is determined to have changed location.
