Abstract

Various example embodiments are disclosed. According to one example embodiment, an apparatus may include a voltage source coupled to a motor via a diode, the diode coupled to the motor and the voltage source, a rechargeable battery, and a motor. The diode may be configured to allow current to flow from the voltage source to the motor. The motor may be configured to spin a disk upon which a plurality of magnets are mounted. The apparatus may be configured to recharge the rechargeable battery with the voltage source and to enable the rechargeable battery to supply power to the motor when a voltage of the voltage source drops below a threshold voltage level.

Claims

1. An apparatus comprising:

a voltage source coupled to a motor via a diode;

the diode coupled to the motor and the voltage source, the diode being configured to allow current to flow from the voltage source to the motor;

a rechargeable battery, the apparatus being configured to recharge the rechargeable battery with the voltage source and to enable the rechargeable battery to supply power to the motor when a voltage of the voltage source drops below a threshold voltage level; and

the motor, the motor being configured to spin a disk upon which a plurality of magnets are mounted.

2. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistor (MOSFET), the MOSFET including a gate coupled to the voltage source and a source-drain channel coupled to the rechargeable battery.

3. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising a battery charger, the battery charger including a supply voltage pin coupled to the voltage source and a battery pin coupled to the rechargeable battery.

4. The apparatus of claim 3, the apparatus further comprising:

a microprocessor configured to control the motor, the microprocessor including;

a voltage monitor pin configured to receive a signal from the rechargeable battery; and

at least one charging monitor pin configured to receive a signal from a charge pin of the battery charger.

5. The apparatus of claim 1, further comprising:

a voltage regulator configured to regulate a voltage of the rechargeable battery and supply power to a microprocessor based on the regulated voltage; and

the microprocessor, the microprocessor being configured to control the motor.

6. The apparatus of claim 1, the apparatus further including a housing which encloses the voltage source, the diode, the rechargeable battery, and the motor.

7. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the housing is disk-shaped.

8. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the housing includes no electrical contacts on an outside surface of the housing.

9. The apparatus of claim 6, wherein the housing is waterproof.

10. A magnetic therapy device comprising:

a current inducing circuit configured to convert a magnetic field into a direct current (DC) voltage;

a battery charging circuit configured to charge a rechargeable battery based on the DC voltage, and to supply power to a motor and to a microprocessor based on the rechargeable battery;

the microprocessor configured to control a plurality of visual indicators and to control a motor;

the visual indicators configured to emit light outside the magnetic therapy device;

the motor configured to generate a magnetic field by spinning a disk upon which is mounted a plurality of magnets; and

a housing which encloses the battery charging circuit, the microprocessor, and the motor, and in which are mounted the current inducing circuit and the visual indicators.

11. The magnetic therapy device of claim 10, wherein the current inducing circuit comprises:

a secondary coil configured to induce a current from the magnetic field;

a delay switch coupled to the secondary coil; and

an output node coupled to the delay switch and to the battery charging circuit.

12. The magnetic therapy device of claim 11, wherein:

the housing includes an aperture; and

the secondary coil surrounds the aperture.

13. The magnetic therapy device of claim 10, wherein the housing is disk-shaped.

14. The magnetic therapy device of claim 10, wherein the housing includes no electrical contacts on an outside surface of the housing.

15. The magnetic therapy device of claim 10, wherein the housing is waterproof.
