1. A method for analyzing performance of a video game, the method comprising:

  • providing a storage medium;

    using a non-linear capture format for capturing run-time game data comprising at least one of run-time parameters and run-time measurements associated with execution of an application code, and run-time parameters associated with hardware of a game platform upon which the application code is being executed; and

    storing the run-time game data in the storage medium, the storing comprising a non-contiguous storage format.
