Abstract

A cartridge containing a fastener, wherein the cartridge releasably connected to a fastener deploying device. The cartridge has a housing which houses at least one tissue penetrating member. The penetrating member at least partially houses a fastener. The fastener has at least two rigid anchors connected together by a flaccid member. The cartridge further includes a means for removably attaching the cartridge to a deployment device.

Claims

1. A cartridge containing a fastener comprising:

a. A cartridge releasably connected to a fastener deploying device;

wherein

b. said cartridge comprising a housing which houses at least one tissue penetrating member;

c. said penetrating member at least partially houses a fastener;

wherein

d. said fastener comprises at least two rigid anchors connected together by a flaccid member and

e. a means for removably attaching said cartridge to a deployment device.

3. The cartridge of claim 1, wherein said suture is contained completely within said housing prior to said fastener being deployed.

4. The cartridge of claim 1 wherein said tissue penetrating member is movable within said housing.

5. The cartridge of claim 1 wherein said tissue penetrating member contains a means for minimizing tissue injury.

2. The cartridge of claim 13 further including a cutter for severing said suture.
