1. A puncturing system for generating a puncture wound for obtaining a sample of a body fluid from a tissue site, comprising:
- a housing including a tissue interface surface configured to be pressed relative to the tissue site;
a penetrating member positioned in the housing;
a trigger coupled to the penetrating member, the trigger launching the penetrating member to pierce the tissue site resulting in a flow of body fluid upon an occurrence of an event;
a body fluid testing member configured to determine at least one test parameter on which a body fluid obtaining probability depends;
a release device with a locked state and a trigger state, the locked state preventing the trigger from being actuated, the trigger state releasing the trigger to provide for launch of the penetrating member through the tissue site; and
a notification device that provides notification of a transition of the release device from the locked state to the trigger state.

Abstract
A tissue penetrating system has a housing member. A plurality of penetrating members are positioned in the housing member. A tissue stabilizing member is coupled to the housing. A penetrating member sensor is coupled to the plurality of penetrating members. The penetrating member sensor is configured to provide information relative to a depth of penetration of a penetrating member through a skin surface.

9. A method of obtaining a body fluid sample using a puncturing device, comprising:
-
pressing a tissue interface surface against a tissue site to be punctured; determining at least one test parameter on which a body fluid sample-obtaining probability depends when a test parameter meets a defined minimum requirement; unlocking a trigger of the puncturing device;
providing a notification that that the trigger is unlocked;actuating the trigger; and causing a puncturing motion of a penetrating member. - View Dependent Claims (10, 11, 12, 13, 14)

15. A method for producing a puncture wound to obtain a body fluid sample using a puncturing device, comprising:
-
pressing a tissue interface surface of a housing of the puncturing system against a tissue site to be punctured; measuring a pressure exerted on the tissue site by the tissue interface surface; unlocking a trigger of the puncturing device when the measured pressure meets or exceeds a defined minimum value; providing a notification that that the trigger is unlocked; manually actuating the trigger, and causing a puncturing motion of a penetrating member. - View Dependent Claims (16, 17, 18, 19, 20)

21. A puncturing device, comprising:
-
a housing; a penetrating member; a tissue interface surface movable relative to the housing and configured to be pressed onto a tissue site where a puncture wound is to be created; a trigger that on actuation causes a launch of a penetrating member; a pressure sensor for determining if pressure exerted on the tissue interface surface meets or exceeds a defined minimum value; a release device having a locked state and a trigger state, wherein in the locked state the release device prevents the trigger from being actuated, and in the trigger state, the release device releases the trigger to allow actuation thereof, the release device being transitioned from the locked state to the trigger state when the pressure sensor determines that the pressure exerted on the press-on part meets or exceeds the defined minimum value; and a notification device that provides notification of a transition of the release device from the locked state to the trigger state or provides notification that the release device is in the trigger state. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23)
