Abstract

An advertising system is described. An advertising system includes a storage module to store video advertising content. The advertising system also includes a server coupled with the storage module. The server to deliver a continuous feed of video advertising content to an interactive device and to adapt the video advertising content responsive to input received from the interactive device.

Claims

1. An advertising system comprising:

a storage module to store video advertising content; and

a server coupled with said storage module to deliver a continuous feed of said video advertising content to an interactive device and to adapt said feed of said video advertising content responsive to input received from said interactive device.

2. The advertising system of claim 1 wherein said server adapts said continuous feed of said video advertising content responsive to a hypertext transfer protocol request from said interactive device.

3. The advertising system of claim 1 wherein said server delivers said continuous feed of said video advertising content to said interactive device using streaming technology.

4. The advertising system of claim 3 wherein said interactive device is running on a set top box.

5. The advertising system of claim 3 wherein said interactive device is running on a cell phone.

6. The advertising system of claim 1 wherein said video advertising content includes a context tag.

7. The advertising system of claim 1 wherein said server includes a scheduler module to create a plurality of channels from said video advertising content.

8. The advertising system of claim 6 wherein selection of said context tag creates a sub-channel of advertising content.

9. The advertising system of claim 7 wherein said scheduler module allocates time slots of one of said plurality of channels to said video advertising content based on the results of an auction.

10. The advertising system of claim 1 further including an advertiser interface module to receive said video advertising content and to process payments associated with delivery of said video advertising content.

11. A video advertising system comprising:

a content upload module to receive video advertising content from an advertiser;

a call for action inputs module to receive a call for action input from said advertiser; and

a post processing module coupled with said content upload module and said call for action inputs module, said post processing module to associate said call for action input with said video advertising content.

12. The video advertising system of claim 11 further comprising a payment module to receive payment information for said video advertising content from said advertiser.

13. The video advertising system of claim 11 further comprising a time slot module to receive a request for a time to deliver said video advertising content.

14. The video advertising system of claim 13 further comprising a scheduler module to schedule a time to deliver said video advertising content responsive to said request received by said time slot module.

15. The video advertising system of claim 14 further comprising a delivery module to deliver said video advertising content at said time scheduled by said scheduler module.

16. A method comprising:

receiving video advertising content;

receiving a request to schedule delivery of said video advertising content;

determining a schedule to deliver said video advertising content; and

delivering said video advertising content according to said schedule.

17. The method of claim 16 wherein determining said schedule to deliver said video advertising content includes retrieving said video advertising content allocated to one of a plurality of time slots, resolving conflicts between said video advertising content allocated to a same one of said plurality of time slots, calculating the number of empty time slots, and filling said empty time slots with video advertising content not allocated to one of said plurality of time slots.

18. The method of claim 16 further comprising assigning a value to a variable coupon associated with said video advertising content based on user view heuristics.

19. The method of claim 16 further comprising delivering said video advertising content as part of a play list to an interactive device and adapting said play list responsive to an input from said interactive device.

20. The method of claim 16 wherein determining a schedule to deliver video advertising content includes assigning a time slot responsive to a bid placed for said time slot.

21. The method of claim 19 wherein said play list is adapted responsive to the selection of a context tag.

22. A method comprising:

delivering video advertising content to an interactive device;

tagging regions within a frame of said video advertising content for selection; and

responding to said selection by delivering content associated with said tagged region.

23. The method of claim 22 wherein tagging regions within a frame includes dividing said frame up into context regions and associating context tags to said context regions.

24. The method of claim 22 wherein responding to said selection of a tagged region within a frame by delivering content associated with said tagged region includes creating a sub-channel based on said selection.

25. The method of claim 23 wherein said context tags are embedded in a frame using cue points.
