1. A body composition measuring instrument comprising:

  • a plurality of hand electrodes and a plurality of foot electrodes;

    a detecting section for detecting a plurality of potential differences at each of a plurality of body sites including a whole body, both hands, and both feet of a subject by using the hand electrodes and the foot electrodes;

    a body composition calculating unit for calculating a body composition of the whole body of the subject based on at least one of the potential differences detected by the detecting section and body information of the subject; and

    an informing unit for informing information related to the body site to be detected of the potential difference used in the calculation of the body composition of the whole body.
