Abstract

The present invention relates to a manual injection pen (1) suitable for injecting a liquid medication via a non-electrical drive mechanism (33). The injection pen (1) is provided with a plurality of sensors (50,70,200) that senses when a user is taking a specific action with the device. Further the injection pen (1) is provided with a sound generator (10) that generates a particular sound corresponding to the specific action taken by the user. In this way a characteristic sound signal can be provided for each specific action.

Claims

1. A manual injection pen (1) for injecting a liquid medication via a non-electrical drive mechanism (33), characterized in that, the pen (1) comprises:

a. One or more sensors (50, 70, 200) that senses when a user is taking an action with the device, and

b. A sound generator (10) that generates a particular sound corresponding to a particular action taken by the user,

2. A manual injection pen according to claim 1, characterized in that the sound generator (10) comprises a processor (10).

3. A manual injection pen according to claim 1, characterized in that, the sound generator (10) provides audible instructions to a patient using the pen.

4. A manual injection pen according to claim 2, characterized in that the processor (10) receives signals from a plurality of sensors (50, 70, 200) and provides the sound or audible instructions dependent on the combination of signals received.

5. The manual injection pen according to anyone of the claim 1, characterized in that, the manual injection pen (1) further contains an input for allowing sound files to be downloaded to the sound generator (10).
