Abstract

A method and apparatus for processing simultaneous assignment, the method comprising receiving multiple Forward Link Assignment Blocks (FLABs), determining if ChIDs are set to ChID_DEASSIGN for one of the FLABs and discarding all FLABs except the FLABs having a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN if one of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN.

Claims

1. A method for processing simultaneous assignments in a wireless communication system, the method characterized in that:

receiving multiple Forward Link Assignment Blocks (FLABs);

determining if ChIDs are set to ChID_DEASSIGN for one of the FLABs; and

discarding all FLABs except the FLABs having a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN if one of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that determining if all FLABs are not of same type if none of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN.

3. The method as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that, assuming and error and ignoring all FLABs which are not of same type if all FLABs are not of same type.

4. The method as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that, determining if all FLABs have the same values except the ChID field if all FLABs are of same type.

5. The method as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that, treating the received multiple FLABsas single FLAB assigning the union of the hop-ports mapped by the constituent ChIDs if all FLABs have the same values except the ChID field.

6. The method as claimed in claim 4, characterized in that, assuming an error and ignoring all received FLABs if all FLABs do not have same values.

7. A computer readable medium including instructions stored thereon characterized in that:

a first set of instructions for receiving multiple Forward Link Assignment Blocks (FLABs);

a second set of instructions for determining if ChIDs are set to ChID_DEASSIGN for one of the FLABs; and

a third set of instructions for discarding all FLABs except the FLABs having a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN if one of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN.

8. An apparatus operable in a wireless communication system, the apparatus characterized in that:

means for receiving multiple Forward Link Assignment Blocks (FLABs);

means for determining if ChIDs are set to ChID_DEASSIGN for one of the FLABs; and

means for discarding all FLABs except the FLABs having a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN if one of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN.

9. The apparatus as claimed in claim 8, characterized in that means for determining if all FLABs are not of same type if none of the received FLABs has a ChIDs set to ChID_DEASSIGN.

10. The apparatus as claimed in claim 9, characterized in that means for assuming and error and ignoring all FLABs which are not of same type, if all FLABs are not of same type.

11. The apparatus as claimed in claim 9, characterized in that means for determining if all FLABs have the same values except the ChID field, if all FLABs are of same type.

12. The apparatus as claimed in claim 11, characterized in that means for treating the received multiple FLABsas single FLAB assigning the union of the hop-ports mapped by the constituent ChIDs if all FLABs have the same values except the ChID field.

13. The apparatus as claimed in claim 11, characterized in that means for assuming an error and ignoring all received FLABs if all FLABs do not have same values.
