Abstract
A method and a system designed to assist individual patients and/or caretakers in visually identifying and confirming a single medication or a plurality of medications, based on comparison with an actual-size color photograph of each item of medication. After such verification, the said medication may then be arranged or organized in a container for future use, or immediately ingested by the patient or administered by a caregiver. The medication photographs are available for electronic display means and the images are printable by physicians, pharmacists, caregivers, or wholesale drug suppliers by accessing, via the Internet, a preliminary authentication server which electronically records, stores and integrates databases containing the relevant medication and patient information.
