Abstract

An installer can use an alias to indicate a combined software program. The combined program can include multiple software products. The software products can each be independently runnable. The alias can be used by the installer system to install the multiple software products automatically.

Claims

1. An installer that uses an alias to indicate a combined software program, wherein the combined program includes multiple software products, the software products each being independently runnable, wherein the alias is used by the installer system to install the multiple software products automatically.

2. The installer of claim 1, wherein the software products comprise components.

3. The installer of claim 2, wherein the components include feature sets.

4. The installer of claim 3, wherein the feature sets include modules.

5. The installer of claim 4, wherein the modules are OSGi bundles.

6. A computer readable storage medium comprising:

Installer code that uses an alias to indicate a combined software program, wherein the combined program includes multiple software products, the software products each being independently runnable, wherein the alias is used by the installer code to install the multiple software products automatically.

7. The computer readable storage medium of claim 6, wherein the software products comprise components.

8. The computer readable storage medium of claim 6, wherein the components included feature sets.

9. The computer readable storage medium of claim 6, wherein the feature sets include modules.

10. The computer readable storage medium of claim 9, wherein the modules are OSGi bundles.

11. A method comprising:

providing an alias to indicate a combined software program, the combined software program including multiple software products, the software products being independently runnable; and

using the alias to install the multiple software products automatically.

12. The method of claim 11, wherein the software products comprise components.

13. The method of claim 11, wherein the components included feature sets.

14. The method of claim 11, wherein the feature sets include modules.

15. The method of claim 14, wherein the modules are OSGi bundles.
