Abstract

An embodiment relates to a method of providing certification. The method includes providing for a software application and applying a set of certification metatags to the software application. The set of certification metatags configured to provide at least one parameter to become certified with the software application. The method also includes querying the set of certification metatags by a second application to determine whether the second application can be certified with the software application.

Claims

1. A method of providing certification, the method comprising:

providing for a software application;

applying a set of certification metatags to the software application, the set of certification metatags configured to provide at least one parameter to become certified with the software application; and

querying the set of certification metatags by a second application to determine whether the second application can be certified with the software application.

2. The method of claim 1, the method further comprising:

testing the second application with the at least one parameter specified by the set of certification metatags; and

certifying the second application in response to a successful result of the testing.

3. The method of claim 1, the method further comprising:

providing for a plurality of precursor applications, each precursor application configured to operate with the software application;

selecting at least one precursor application; and

testing the software application and the at least one precursor application as an application stack with a single set of tests.

4. The method of claim 3, the method further comprising:

receiving results of the single set of tests; and

applying regression analysis to the rest of the plurality of precursor applications in response to the results being successful.

5. The method of claim 4, the method further comprising certifying the rest of the plurality of precursor applications in response to a successful passing of the regression analysis.

6. The method of claim 4, further comprising certifying the at least one precursor application as being certified in response to the results being successful.

7. The method of claim 1, the method further comprising:

providing for a plurality of complementary applications, each complementary application configured with a respective set of certification metatags configured to provide at least a description of a respective service;

interrogating the set of certification metatags of the software application to determine a desired service; and

selecting one of the plurality of complementary application in response to the desired service.

8. A method of providing certification, the method comprising:

providing for a software application, the software application configured with a set of certification metatags configured to provide a description of required services;

providing for a plurality of complementary applications, each complementary application configured with a respective set of certification metatags configured to provide at least a description of a respective service;

interrogating the set of certification metatags of the software application; and

selecting one of the plurality of complementary applications in response to the description of the required services.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the set of certification metatags of the software application firer comprises at least one parameter of becoming certified with the software application.

10. The method of claim 9, further comprising:

providing for a plurality of precursor applications, each precursor application configured to operate with the software application;

selecting one precursor application from the plurality of precursor applications; and

testing the selected precursor application with the software application as an application stack with a single set of tests.

11. The method of claim 10, further comprising:

receiving the results of tests; and

applying regression analysis to the rest of the plurality of precursor applications in response to the results being successful.

12. The method of claim 10, further comprising certifying the selected precursor application as certified in response to the results being successful.

13. A system configured to provide certification, the system comprising:

at least one database configured to store a plurality of precursor applications and a plurality of complementary applications and a software application, wherein the plurality of precursor applications and the plurality of complementary applications are configured to interact with a software application and the software application further comprises a set of certification metatags configured to provide at least one parameter to become certified with the software application;

a certification module configured to certify applications coupled to the at least one database, wherein the certification module is configured to receive a new application, query a set of certification metatags of the new application and store the new application with one of the plurality of precursor applications or the plurality of complementary applications.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein the certification module is further configured to classify the new application as a plurality of precursor application in response to the set of certification metatags of the new application matching the at least one parameter of the software application.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein the certification module is further configured to apply regression analysis on the new application.

16. The system of claim 15, wherein the certification module is further configured to certify the new application as being compatible with the software application in response to a result of the regression analysis being successful.

17. The system of claim 13, wherein the set of certification metatags of the software application describes at least one required service.

18. The system of claim 17, wherein the certification module is further configured to classify the new application with the plurality of complementary applications in response to the set of certification metatags of the new application matching the at least one required service.
