1. A light module for use in a display having a two dimensional array of light modules, the light module comprising:
- a module housing;
a plurality of color light elements mounted in the housing;
at least three bidirectional data ports;
a controller within the module housing and coupled to each of the data ports, the controller identifying the location of the light module in the two dimensional display in response to data received via a data port and the identity of the data port receiving the data.
