1. A card having a first side longer than a second side comprising:
- a dynamic magnetic communications device operable to serially communicate magnetic stripe data comprising;
a first region having a conductive wire segment parallel to said first side;
a second region having a conductive wire segment perpendicular to said first side; and
a third region having a conductive wire segment at approximately a forty-five degree angle with respect to said first side.

Abstract
A payment card (e.g., credit and/or debit card) is provided with a magnetic emulator operable to act as a magnetic stripe read-head detector and a data transmitter. A multiple layer flexible PCB may be fabricated to include multiple magnetic emulators. Layers of the flexible PCB may include magnetic shielding in order to reduce interference from the magnetic emulators to particular read-heads on a magnetic stripe reader.

2. The card of claim 2, further comprising a first read-head detector and a second read-head detector, wherein a processor operates said dynamic magnetic communications device in a first manner when said first read-head detector determines the presence of a read-head of a magnetic stripe reader and said processor operates said dynamic magnetic communications device in a second manner when said second read-head detector determines the presence of said read-head.
