Abstract

A scrolling method, which includes displaying at least one scroll icon on a screen of a touch device, sensing an operation in which one of the displayed scroll icons is touched and dragged, and scrolling the screen displayed on the touch device in a direction in which the touched scroll icon is dragged when the sensing step senses the scroll icon is touched and dragged.

Claims

1. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

displaying a list of items on a display of the mobile terminal;

displaying at least two scroll indicators on a right side of the list of items; and

jumping to a predetermined position in the list of items in correspondence with a touching and dragging operation of one of the at least two scroll indicators.

2. The method of claim 1, wherein the jumping step comprises skipping over items in the list to the predetermined position in the list of items that corresponds to the touched and dragged said one of the at least two scroll indicators.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the jumping step skips over items in the list to the predetermined position in the list of items based on a predetermined scroll operation for said one of the at least two scroll indicators.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the predetermined scroll operation is a non-line-by-line scroll operation such that the items in the list of items are scrolled in a non-line-by-line manner.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the list of items include a list of contact names, each contact name corresponding to a telephone number of the contact name such that when a contact name is selected, the telephone number corresponding to the contact name is displayed.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the list of items include a list of multimedia.

7. The method of claim 1, wherein the at least two scroll indicators include more than two scroll indicators.

8. A method of controlling a mobile terminal, the method comprising:

displaying a list of contact names on a display of the mobile terminal, each contact name corresponding to a telephone number of the contact name such that when the contact name is selected, the telephone number corresponding to the contact name is displayed;

displaying at least two scroll indicators on a right side of the list of contact names; and

jumping to a predetermined position in the list of contact names in correspondence with a touching and dragging operation of one of the at least two scroll indicators.

9. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a touch screen display configured to display a list of items and at least two scroll indicators on a right side of the list of items; and

a controller configured to control the display to jump to and display items at a predetermined position in the list of items in correspondence with a touching and dragging operation of one of the at least two scroll indicators.

10. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the controller is further configured the display to skip over items in the list and display items at the predetermined position in the list of items that corresponds to the touched and dragged said one of the at least two scroll indicators.

11. The mobile terminal of claim 10, wherein the controller is further configured to skip over items in the list to the predetermined position in the list of items based on a predetermined scroll operation for said one of the at least two scroll indicators.

12. The mobile terminal of claim 11, wherein the predetermined scroll operation is a non-line-by-line scroll operation such that the items in the list of items are scrolled in a non-line-by-line manner.

13. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the list of items include a list of contact names, each contact name corresponding to a telephone number of the contact name such that when the contact name is selected, the telephone number corresponding to the contact name is displayed.

14. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the list of items include a list of multimedia.

15. The mobile terminal of claim 9, wherein the at least two scroll indicators include more than two scroll indicators.

16. A mobile terminal, comprising:

a touch screen display configured to display a list of contact names, each contact name corresponding to a telephone number of the contact name such that when the contact name is selected, the telephone number corresponding to the contact name is displayed, and to display at least two scroll indicators on a right side of the list of contact names; and

a controller configured to control the display to jump to a predetermined position in the list of contact names in correspondence with a touching and dragging operation of one of the at least two scroll indicators.
