Abstract

A digital broadcast system having storing resistance to errors generated during the transmission of mobile service data, and a data processing method are disclosed. The digital broadcast system additionally encodes mobile service data. As a result, the mobile service data has strong resistance to a channel variation and noise, and at the same time the system can quickly cope with the channel variation.

Claims

1. A data processing method comprising:

receiving first program table information having first information, which indicates that an IP stream is contained in mobile service data packet, from a broadcast signal of a first channel, and parsing the received first program table information;

parsing second information indicating that the mobile service data packet equipped with the IP stream is contained in a second channel in which mobile service data and main service data are multiplexed, on the basis of second program table information contained in the broadcast signal;

acquiring multiplexed information of the IP stream from program table information received in the second channel; and

acquiring the IP stream from the second channel using the multiplexed information.

The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the broadcast signal includes a data group in which the mobile service data error-correction-encoded by at least one of code rates and the main service data are interleaved, and the mobile service data in the interleaved data group includes periodically-inserted known data.

3. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the first information indicating the IP stream is contained in the mobile service data packet is a service type (service_type) field.

4. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the second information indicating that the mobile service data packet equipped with the IP stream is contained in the second channel is a resource location (resource_location).

5. The data processing method according to claim 1, wherein the step for acquiring the multiplexed information of the IP stream from the program table information received in the second channel includes:

parsing the program table information of the second channel from a network resource table (NRT); and

acquiring the multiplexed information of the IP stream from the program table information of the second channel.

6. A digital broadcast system comprising:

a receiver for receiving a broadcast signal of a first channel;

a program table information decoder which receives first program table information equipped with multiplexed information of the broadcast signal, parses first information indicating that an IP stream is contained in mobile service data packet on the basis of the received first program table information, receives second program table information contained in the broadcast signal, parses second information indicating that the mobile service data packet equipped with the IP stream is contained in a second channel in which mobile service data and main service data are multiplexed, on the basis of the second program table information, and acquires multiplexed information of the IP stream from program table information received in the second channel; and

an IP filter for acquiring the IP stream from the second channel using the multiplexed information, and parsing the acquired IP stream.

The digital broadcast system according to claim 6, wherein the broadcast signal includes a data group in which the mobile service data error-correction-encoded by at least one of code rates and the main service data are interleaved, and the mobile service data in the interleaved data group includes periodically-inserted known data.

8. The digital broadcast system according to claim 6, wherein the first information indicating the IP stream is contained in the mobile service data packet is a service type (service_type) field value.

9. The digital broadcast system according to claim 6, wherein the second information indicating that the mobile service data packet equipped with the IP stream is contained in the second channel is a resource location (resource_location).

10. The digital broadcast system according to claim 6, wherein:

the first program table information is a virtual channel table (VCT), and

the program table information received in the second channel is a program map table (PMT).

11. The digital broadcast system according to claim 6, wherein the IP stream is contained in a digital storage media-command and control (DSM-CC) section.

12. A data processing method comprising:

encoding first program table information equipped with first information indicating that an IP stream is contained in mobile service data packet, second program table information equipped with second information indicating that the mobile service data packet equipped with the IP stream is contained in a second channel, third program table information equipped with multiplexed information of the IP stream, and fourth program table information equipped with location information of the third program information multiplexed on the second channel; and

multiplexing the mobile service data packet, main service data packet, and the first, second, and fourth program table information, transmitting the multiplexed result to the first channel, and transmitting the third program table information to the second channel.

The data processing method according to claim 12, wherein the broadcast signal includes a data group in which the mobile service data error-correction-encoded by at least one of code rates and the main service data are interleaved, and the mobile service data in the interleaved data group includes periodically-inserted known data.

14. The data processing method according to claim 12, wherein:

the first program table information is a virtual channel table (VCT), and

the first information indicating that the IP stream is contained in the mobile service data packet is ‘

service_type’

.

The data processing method according to claim 12, wherein the third program table information is a program map table (PMT), the second program table information is a data service table (DST), the second information indicating that the mobile service data packet equipped with the IP stream is contained in the second channel is ‘

resource_location’

, and the fourth program table information is a NST (Network Resource Table).
