1. A chair-type massaging apparatus comprising:
- a massaging element that is mounted in a back rest configured to support a back of a user and is configured to be movable to apply stimulation to the back of the user;
a control device that includes a grip configured to be operated by the user to be displaceable from a predetermined neutral position and is configured to output a signal indicating an operation of the grip; and
a controller configured to, based on the signal from the control device, execute control to move the massaging element in a direction corresponding with a direction in which the grip is operated to move.
