Abstract

A system, method and computer-readable medium are disclosed for using filters signal processing. The system includes a module that calculates a filter for each of a plurality of frequency bands, a module that groups the filters into a plurality of groups, a module that determines a representative filter for each group of the plurality of groups and a module that uses the representative filter of each group for frequency bands of the each group. The filters are temporal noise shaping filters (TNS) filters.

Claims

1. A receiving device that processes a received audio signal, the receiver device comprising:

a processor;

a module configured to control the process to receive information regarding a first filter;

a module configured to control the process to receive information regarding a second filter;

a module configured to control the process to receive data to indicate switching between the first filter and the second filter across a spectrum of the received audio signal; and

a module configured to control the process to received audio signal according to the received data and switching between the first filter and the second filter.

2. The receiving device of claim 1, wherein the spectrum of the received audio signal is represented as a plurality of bands.

3. The receiving device of claim 2, wherein the plurality of bands are scale factor bands.

4. The receiving device of claim 2, wherein the received data includes one bit per band to indicate the switching.

5. The receiving device of claim 1, wherein the data is a mask of one bit per scaled factor band.

6. A tangible computer-readable medium storing instructions for controlling a receiving device to process a received audio signal, the instructions comprising:

receiving information regarding a first filter;

receiving information regarding a second filter;

receiving data to indicate switching between the first filter and the second filter across a spectrum of the received audio signal; and

processing the received audio signal according to the received data and switching between the first filter and the second filter.

7. The tangible computer-readable medium of claim 6, wherein the spectrum of the received audio signal is represented as a plurality of bands.

8. The tangible computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the plurality of bands are scale factor bands.

9. The tangible computer-readable medium of claim 7, wherein the received data includes one bit per band to indicate the switching.

10. The tangible computer-readable medium of claim 6, wherein the data is a mask of one bit per scale factor band.

11. A computer-implemented method of processing received audio signals, the method comprising:

receiving information regarding a first filter;

receiving information regarding a second filter;

receiving data to indicate switching between the first filter and the second filter across a spectrum of the received audio signal; and

processing the received audio signal according to the received data and switching between the first filter and the second filter.

12. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, wherein the spectrum of the received audio signal is represented as a plurality of bands.

13. The computer-implemented method of claim 12, wherein the plurality of bands are scale factor bands.

14. The computer-implemented method of claim 12, wherein the received data includes one bit per band to indicate the switching.

15. The computer-implemented method of claim 11, wherein the data is a mask of one bit per scale factor band.
