Abstract

An internal unit acquires a first internal use address and uses the first internal use address to acquire a second internal use address. When receiving a notification of change of IP address from the main unit, the internal unit uses the second internal use address as a first internal use address to acquire a new second internal use address from the main unit.

Claims

1. An address distribution system comprising:

a main unit connected to a network in the system and having an internal use address used inside of the network and an external use address used outside of the network; and

a plurality of internal units each connected to the network, acquiring a first internal use address from the main unit, using the acquired first internal use address to acquire a second internal use address from the main unit, and using the acquired second internal use address to communicate with the main unit;

wherein when the main unit sends the plurality of the internal units an address change notification and the plurality of the internal units receive the address change notification, and

each internal unit uses the second internal use address as the first internal use address and obtains a new second address from the main unit.

2. The address distribution system as set forth in claim 1, wherein each of the plurality of internal units sends the main unit a predetermined signal and, when not receiving a reply within a predetermined time, acquires a new first internal use address from the main unit.

3. An address distribution system comprising:

a main unit connected to a network in the system and having an internal use address used inside of the network and an external use address used outside of the network and

a plurality of internal units each connected to the network, acquiring an address from the main unit, and using the acquired internal use address to communicate with the main unit,

wherein when an internal unit does not receive a reply within a predetermined time, the internal unit acquires a new address from the main unit.

4. An address distribution method in a network connecting a main unit with a plurality of internal units of an apparatus, the main unit having an internal use address used inside of the network and an external use addressed used outside of the network, each of the internal units achieving the method, comprising:

acquiring a first internal use address from the main unit,

using the acquired first address to acquire a second internal use address from the main unit,

using the acquired second internal use address to communicate with the main unit, and,

using the second internal use address as the first internal use address to acquire a new second internal use address from the main unit, when receiving an address change notification from the main unit.

5. The address distribution method as set forth in claim 4, further comprising:

sending a predetermined signal to the main unit and,

acquiring a first internal use address from the main unit, when not receiving a reply within a predetermined time.

6. An address distribution method in a network to connecting a main unit with a plurality of internal units of a system, the main unit having an internal use address used inside of the network and an external use addressed used outside of the network, each of the internal units achieving the method, comprising:

acquiring an internal use address from the main unit,

using the acquired internal use address to communicate with the main unit, and,

acquiring a new address from the main unit, when not receiving a reply within a predetermined time.
