Abstract

In a method of producing scale-like composite particles, a dispersion liquid is prepared to include scale-like inorganic particles coated with resin and spherical fine particles having an average particle diameter in a range from 0.1 to 3.0 μm. The scale-like inorganic particles coated with the resin and the spherical fine particles is dispersed in water, alcohol, or a mixture dispersant of the water and the alcohol. Then, the dispersion liquid is sprayed in a heated air stream for drying so that the spherical fine particles are adhered on the scale-like inorganic particles coated with resin by an electrostatic force generated by contact between the particles.

Claims

1. A method of producing scale-like composite particles, comprising the steps of:

preparing a dispersion liquid including scale-like inorganic particles coated with resin and spherical fine particles having an average particle diameter in a range from 0.1 to 3.0 μ

m, said scale-like inorganic particles coated with the resin and the spherical fine particles being dispersed in water, alcohol, or a mixture thereof, and

spraying the dispersion liquid in a heated air stream for drying so that the spherical fine particles are adhered on the scale-like inorganic particles coated with resin by a static electricity generated by contact between the particles.

A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein a total concentration of the resin-coated scale-like inorganic particles and spherical particles in the dispersion liquid is in a range from 5 to 50 weight %, and a temperature of the heated air is in a range from 60 to 130°

C.

3. A method of producing cosmetics, comprising the steps of:

producing the scale-like composite particles by the method according to claim 1, and

blending the scale-like composite particles in cosmetics.

4. A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein said spherical fine particles adhere in a single layer.

5. A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein a quantity of said spherical fine particles is in a range from 1/99 to 60/40 as expressed by a weight ratio of the spherical fine particles relative to the resin-coated scale-like inorganic particles.

A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein a quantity of the resin coating said resin-coated scale-like inorganic particles is in a range from 0.1/99.9 to 20/80 as expressed by a weight ratio of the resin relative to the scale-like inorganic particles.

7. A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein an average particle diameter (Df) of said resin-coated scale-like inorganic particles is in a range from 1 to 50 μ

m, an average thickness (Tf) thereof is in a range from 0.01 to 1 μ

m, and a ratio (Df/Tf) of the average diameter (Df) versus the average thickness (Tf) is in a range from 10 to 300.

8. A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein 100% modulus of said resin in a tensile test is in a range from 50 to 3000 N/cm².

A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein said resin includes at least one material selected from the group consisting of polyurethane, styrene-butadiene copolymer, acrylonitrile-butadiene copolymer, silicone-based elastomer and polyolefin-based elastomer.

10. A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein said inorganic particles are only coated with resin while the spherical fine particles are not coated with resin.

A method of producing the scale-like composite particles according to claim 1, wherein said spherical fine particles are made from inorganic oxide, said spherical fine particles and inorganic particles coated with the resin being configured such that the spherical fine particles are negatively charged, and the inorganic particles coated with the resin are positively charged by the static electricity so that the spherical fine particles are adhered to the inorganic particles coated with the resin.
