- receiving sensor data from an analyte sensor, the sensor data comprising at least one sensor data point;
receiving reference data from a reference analyte monitor, the reference data comprising at least one reference analyte value;
matching at least one sensor data point with at least one reference analyte value to form a matched data pair;
converting sensor data into at least one estimated analyte value, utilizing the matched data pair; and
displaying the estimated analyte value within about 10 minutes of receiving the reference analyte value.

a processor module configured to obtain a reference glucose value and match the reference glucose value with a sensor glucose value without compensating for a time lag such that a time stamp of the reference glucose value is as close as possible to a time stamp of the sensor glucose value.

a processor module configured to immediately calibrate a continuous glucose sensor by matching a reference glucose value with a first sensor glucose value and subsequently calibrating the continuous glucose sensor by matching the reference glucose value with a second sensor glucose value.
