1. An apparatus for supplying power to an appliance, the apparatus comprising:
- power plug, having a plurality of tines;
a power cord connected with the plurality of tines;
a temperature sensor connected with the power plug; and
a controller, in communication with a the temperature sensor to receive a signal corresponding to the temperature of the power plug, the controller being operable to control an amount of power delivered through the power cord if the signal from the temperature sensor exceeds a predetermined threshold.
