Abstract

A tempered glass substrate of the present invention is a tempered glass substrate, which has a compression stress layer on a surface thereof, and has a glass composition comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 3 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 3.5% of Li₂O, to 20% of Na₂O, and 0 to 15% of K₂O.

Claims

1. A tempered glass substrate, which has a compression stress layer on a surface thereof, and has a glass composition comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 3 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 3.5% of Li₂O, 7 to 20% of Na₂O, and 0 to 15% of K₂O.

A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, which has a compression stress layer on a surface thereof, and has a glass composition comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 7.5 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 2% of Li₂O, 10 to 19% of Na₂O, 0 to 15% of K₂O, 0 to 6% of MgO, 0 to 6% of CaO, 0 to 3% of SrO, 0 to 3% of BaO, and 0 to 8% of ZnO.

A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, which has a compression stress layer on a surface thereof, and has a glass composition comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 8.5 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 1% of Li₂O, 10 to 19% of Na₂O, 0 to 10% of K₂O, 0 to 6% of MgO, 0 to 6% of CaO, 0 to 3% of SrO, 0 to 3% of BaO, and 0 to 8% of ZnO.

4. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, wherein the tempered glass substrate comprises 0.01 to 3% of SnO₂.

5. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, wherein the tempered glass substrate comprises 0.001 to 10% of ZrO₂.

6. A tempered glass substrate according claim 1, which is formed by being chemically tempered.

7. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, wherein a compression stress of the surface is 300 MPa or more, a depth of the compression stress layer is 10 μ

m or more, and a internal tensile stress in the glass substrate is 200 MPa or less.

8. A tempered glass substrate according claim 1, wherein the tempered glass substrate has an unpolished surface.

9. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, wherein the tempered glass substrate is composed of a glass having a liquidus temperature of 1200°

C. or lower.

10. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, wherein the tempered glass substrate is composed of a glass having a liquidus viscosity of 10^4.0 dPa·

s or more.

11. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, which is used as a cover glass of a display.

12. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 1, which is used as a cover glass of a solar battery.

19. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 2, wherein the tempered glass substrate comprises 0.01 to 3% of SnO₂.

20. A tempered glass substrate according to claim 3, wherein the tempered glass substrate comprises 0.01 to 3% of SnO₂.

13. A glass comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 3 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 3.5% of Li₂O, 7 to 20% of Na₂O, and 0 to 15% of K₂O.

14. A glass according to claim 13 comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 7.5 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 2% of Li₂O, 10 to 19% of Na₂O, 0 to 15% of K₂O, 0 to 6% of MgO, 0 to 6% of CaO, 0 to 3% of SrO, 0 to 3% of BaO, 0 to 8% of ZnO, and 0.01 to 3% of SnO₂.

15. A glass according to claim 13 comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 8.5 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 1% of Li₂O, 10 to 19% of Na₂O, 0 to 10% of K₂O, 0 to 6% of MgO, 0 to 6% of CaO, 0 to 3% of SrO, 0 to 3% of BaO, 0 to 8% of ZnO, 0.01 to 3% of SnO₂, and 0.001 to 10% of ZrO₂.

16. A method of producing a tempered glass substrate, comprising:

melting a glass raw material which is prepared to have a glass composition comprising, in terms of mass %, 40 to 71% of SiO₂, 3 to 21% of Al₂O₃, 0 to 3.5% of Li₂O, 7 to 20% of Na₂O, and 0 to 15% of K₂O;

forming the resultant into a plate shape; and

performing an ion exchange treatment to form a compression stress layer on a surface of the glass.

17. A method of producing a tempered glass substrate according to claim 16, wherein the forming the resultant into a plate shape is performed by a down draw method.

18. A method of producing a tempered glass substrate according to claim 16, wherein the forming the resultant into a plate shape is performed by an overflow down draw method.
