Abstract

A wireless computerized wagering game system comprises a gaming module operable to present a wagering game on which monetary value can be wagered, and a wireless communications module operable to connect the wireless wagering game system to at least one wireless peripheral device. The wireless computerized wagering game is portable, is operable to couple to fixed and portable peripheral devices, and is operable to couple to user-provided and gaming establishment-provided peripherals in various embodiments.

Claims

1. A wireless computerized wagering game system, comprising:

a gaming module operable to present a wagering game on which monetary value can be wagered via the wireless wagering game system; and

a wireless communications module operable to connect the wireless wagering game system to at least one detached wireless peripheral device, the wireless peripheral device operable to convey one or more audio or visual indications of wagering game play to a game player.

2. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 1, wherein the wireless peripheral device comprises a speaker.

3. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 2, wherein the speaker is embedded in at least one of a chair, a table, or a bar top.

4. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 1, wherein the wireless peripheral device comprises a headset.

6. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 1, wherein the wireless computerized wagering game system comprises a portable wagering game system.

7. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 1, wherein the wireless peripheral device comprises a display device.

10. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 1, wherein connection between the wireless wagering game device and the wireless peripheral device is established either automatically or by wagering game player selection.

12. The wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 1, wherein presenting a wagering game comprises streaming game presentation information from the wireless wagering game device to the wireless peripheral device.

13. A method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system, comprising:

presenting a wagering game on which monetary value can be wagered via the wireless computerized wagering game system; and

connecting the wireless computerized wagering game system to at least one detached wireless peripheral device via a wireless connection, the wireless peripheral device operable to convey one or more audio or visual indications of wagering game play to a game player.

15. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 13, wherein connecting comprises establishing a connection to a peripheral device with a fixed location in the vicinity of the wireless wagering game system.

16. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 15, wherein the peripheral device is embedded in at least one of a chair, a table, or a bar top.

17. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 13, wherein connecting to the wireless peripheral device comprises connecting to a Bluetooth headset.

19. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 13, wherein the wireless computerized wagering game system comprises a portable wagering game system.

20. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 13, wherein connecting to the wireless peripheral device comprises connecting to at least one of a display device or a speaker.

23. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 13, wherein connection between the wireless wagering game device and the wireless peripheral device is established via at least one of wagering game player selection and automatic connection.

24. The method of operating a wireless computerized wagering game system of claim 13, wherein presenting a wagering game comprises streaming game presentation information from the wireless wagering game device to the wireless peripheral device.

25. A machine-readable medium with instructions stored thereon, the instructions when executed operable to cause a wireless computerized wagering game system to:

present a wagering game on which monetary value can be wagered via the wireless computerized wagering game system; and

connect the wireless computerized wagering game system to at least one detached wireless peripheral device via a wireless connection, the wireless peripheral device operable to convey one or more audio or visual indications of wagering game play to a game player.

26. The machine-readable medium of claim 25, wherein the wireless peripheral device comprises at least one of a speaker, a display, and a headset.

27. The machine-readable medium of claim 25, wherein connecting comprises establishing a connection to a peripheral device with a fixed location in the vicinity of the wireless wagering game system.

28. The machine-readable medium of claim 25, wherein the peripheral device is embedded in at least one of a chair, a table, or a bar top.

29. The machine-readable medium of claim 25, wherein the wireless computerized wagering game system comprises a portable wagering game system.
