1. A touch panel device operable by multiple users comprising:
- a capacitive touch panel havinga substrate with a top surface and a bottom surface; and
a top conductive layer formed on the top surface and having four corners as sensing signal output ports;
a current sensing unit havingmultiple input terminals respectively connected to the sensing signal output ports; and
an output terminal for outputting an analog current signal;
a control unit havingan input terminal connected to the output terminal of the current sensing unit to receive the analog current signal;
an output terminal for outputting an AC signal with a constant magnitude; and
a control terminal for outputting a selection command; and
a switch havinga control terminal connected to the control unit to receive the selection command;
an input terminal connected to the control unit to receive the AC signal;
multiple output terminals selectively and sequentially interconnected to the input terminal of the switch based on the selection command, and thus in turn outputting the AC signal.

Abstract
A touch panel device has a capacitive touch panel, a current sensing unit, a control unit and a switch. The control unit computes a coordinate of a press position based on current changes occurring at all corners of the touch panel, and provides an AC signal being output through multiple output terminals of the switch in turn. When the AC signal is applied to different users and then conducted to the touch panel, the control unit recognizes which user is pressing the touch panel. Therefore, the touch panel device has the capability of being operated my multiple users.
