Abstract

A method and apparatus for processing in Read SystemInfo state in a wireless communication network, the method comprising issuing a ControlChannelMAC.Activate command, issuing a OverheadMessages.Activate command and determining if a SystemInfoBlock is received within T_ISPSyncAcq seconds.

Claims

1. A method of processing in Read SystemInfo state in a wireless communication network, the method characterized in that:

issuing a ControlChannelMAC.Activate command;

issuing a OverheadMessages.Activate command; and

determining if a SystemInfoBlock is received within T_ISPSyncAcq seconds.

2. The method as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that, determining if revision number is not in the range defined by the minimum Revision and Maximum Revision fields in the SystemInfo Block, if the SystemInfo Block is received within T_ISPSyncAcq seconds.

3. The method as claimed in claim 1, characterized in that:

issuing a ControlChannelMAC.deactivate and an OverheadMessages. deactivate commands; and

entering Network Determination State if the SystemInfo Block is not received within T_ISPSyncAcq.

4. The method as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that:

setting a time to the time specified in the SystemInfo Block;

returning a network acquired indication; and

entering Inactive state.

5. The method as claimed in claim 2, characterized in that:

issuing a ControlChannelMAC.deactivate and an OverheadMessages. deactivate commands; and

entering Network Determination State,

6. A computer readable medium including instructions thereon, characterized in that:

a first set of instructions for issuing a ControlChannelMAC.Activate command;

a second set of instructions for issuing a OverheadMessages.Activate command; and

a third set of instructions for determining if a SystemInfoBlock is received within T_ISPSyncAcq seconds.

7. An apparatus operable in a wireless communication system, the apparatus characterized in that:

means for issuing a ControlChannelMAC.Activate command;

means for issuing a OverheadMessages.Activate command; and

means for determining if a SystemInfoBlock is received within seconds.

8. The apparatus as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that, means for determining if revision number is not in the range defined by the minimum Revision and Maximum Revision fields in the SystemInfo Block.

9. The apparatus as claimed in claim 7, characterized in that:

means for issuing a ControlChannelMAC.deactivate and an OverheadMessages. deactivate commands; and

means for entering Network Determination State.

10. The apparatus as claimed in claim 8, characterized in that

means for setting a time to the time specified in the SystemInfo Block;

means for returning a network acquired indication; and

means for entering Inactive state.
