Abstract

An RFID reader control system and method is provided. A protocol for controlling an RFID reader and an RFID reader control unit of a mobile phone is defined. Messages, information, commands, responses, and notification are constructed and transmitted between the RFID reader and the RFID reader control unit.

Claims

1. A method of managing RFID tag data by managing a control protocol message between an RFID reader and an RFID reader control unit of a terminal, the method comprising:

constituting a message including a message type field for notifying the type of a message, a code field for describing that the message is information protection of a tag, and a payload according to the code; and

adding a preamble indicating a start and an end mark indicating an end to the constituted message, and transmitting a protocol message for tag data management to the RFID reader.

2. The method according to claim 1, wherein the message is a kill command for permanently prohibiting use of a tag.

3. The method according to claim 1, wherein the message includes an access password for access of data, and a kill password for deletion of tag data.

4. The method according to claim 1, wherein the message is a control message for controlling lock/unlock of a tag.

5. The method according to claim 1, wherein the message is one of an UID of a tag to be managed, an address, and a lock data.

6. The method according to claim 1, wherein the message is one of a kill type C tag for permanently prohibiting use of a type C tag, a lock type B for controlling lock of a type B tag, and a lock type C for controlling lock of a type C tag.

7. A method of managing RFID tag data by managing a control protocol message between an RFID reader and an RFID reader control unit of a terminal, the method comprising:

transmitting a protocol message for tag data management from the RFID reader control unit to the RFID reader a preamble, including a code field for describing that the message is information protection of a tag, a payload according to the code, and an end mark to the RFID reader; and

transmitting a response protocol message including a preamble, a code field for describing that the message is a response to a command for the information protection of the tag, a payload according to the code, and an end mark, from the RFID reader to the RFID reader control unit, in response to the protocol message.

The method according to claim 7, wherein the control command is a kill type C tag command that is used to transmit a command protocol message including a message type for indicating a command, a code for describing that the command is a kill type C tag command, and a payload field for describing information necessary for permanent deletion of tag data to the RFID reader;

and

the response is a response to the kill type C tag command which is used to transmit a response protocol message including a message type for indicating a response, a code for describing that the response is a response to the kill type C tag command, and a payload field for describing the execution result of a command to the RFID reader control unit.

The method according to claim 7, wherein the control command is a lock type B tag command that is used to transmit a command protocol message including a message type for indicating a command, a code for describing that the command is a lock type B tag command, and a payload field for describing information necessary for application of lock to the RFID reader;

and

the response is a response to the lock type B tag command which is used to a response protocol message including a message type for indicating a response, a code for describing that the response is a response to the lock type B tag command, and a payload field for describing the execution result of a command to the RFID reader control unit.

The method according to claim 7, wherein the control command is a lock type C tag command that is used to transmit a command protocol message including a message type for indicating a command, a code for describing that the command is a lock type C tag command, and a payload field for describing information necessary for application of lock and kill to the RFID reader;

and

the response is a response to the lock type C tag command which is used to transmit a response protocol message including a message type for indicating a response, a code for describing that the response is a response to the lock type C tag command, and a payload field for describing the execution result of a command to the RFID reader control unit.

11. The method according to claim 7, wherein a code value for indicating the response is identical to a code value for indicating the command.
