Abstract

A method and system for wirelessly providing venue-based data to one or more hand held devices. Venue-based data can be acquired from one or more venues. The venue-based data can be authenticated and wirelessly transmitted to one or more hand held devices through one or more wireless telecommunications networks, in response to authenticating the venue-based data and/or the hand held device(s) and/or a user of the hand held device(s), in order to permit the venue-based data to be accessible via one or more hand held devices at locations remote from the venue(s).

Claims

1. A method for wirelessly providing venue-based data to at least one hand held device, said method comprising:

acquiring venue-based data from at least one venue;

authenticating said venue-based data; and

wirelessly transmitting said venue-based data to at least one hand held device through a wireless telecommunications network, in response to authenticating said venue-based data, in order to permit said venue-based data to be accessible via said at least one hand held device at locations remote from said at least one venue.

2. The method of claim 1 further comprising accessing said venue-based data via said at least one hand held device.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises video data.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises audio data.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises video data and audio data.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises at least one video replay.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises team information.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises sports statistics.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data includes merchandise information.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises advertisements.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises promotional information.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein said venue-based data comprises concession information.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a cellular telephone.

14. The method of claim 1 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a laptop computer.

15. The method of claim 1 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a smartphone.

16. The method of claim 1 wherein said at least one venue comprises a sports venue.

17. The method of claim 1 where said at least one venue comprises a racing venue.

18. The method of claim 1 wherein said at least one venue comprises a concert venue.

19. The method of claim 1 wherein said at least one venue comprises an entertainment venue.

20. The method of claim 1 wherein acquiring venue-based data from said at least one venue further comprises acquiring said venue-based data utilizing at least one video camera.

21. A method for wirelessly providing venue-based data to at least one hand held device, said method comprising:

acquiring venue-based data from at least one venue;

authenticating at least one hand held device for the delivery of said venue-based data to said at least one hand held device;

wirelessly transmitting said venue-based data to said at least one hand held device through a wireless telecommunications network, in response to authenticating said at least one hand held device, in order to permit said venue-based data to be accessible via said at least one hand held device at locations remote from said at least one venue.

22. The method of claim 21 wherein authenticating said at least one hand held device comprises authenticating a particular user of said at least one hand held device for the delivery of said venue-based data to said at least one hand held device.

23. The method of claim 21 further comprising accessing said venue-based data via said at least one hand held device.

24. The method of claim 21 wherein said venue-based data comprises video data.

25. The method of claim 21 wherein said venue-based data comprises audio data.

26. The method of claim 21 wherein said venue-based data comprises a video data and audio data.

27. The method of claim 21 wherein said venue-based data comprises at least one video replay.

28. The method of claim 21 wherein said venue-based data comprises at least one of the following types of data:

team information and sports statistics.

29. The method of claim 21 wherein said venue-based data includes at least one of the following types of data:

merchandise information, advertisements and promotional information.

30. The method of claim 21 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a cellular telephone.

31. The method of claim 21 wherein said at least one handheld device comprises a smartphone.

32. The method of claim 21 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a laptop computer.

33. A system for wirelessly providing venue-based data to at least one hand held device, said system comprising:

at least one venue from which venue-based data is acquirable;

at least one authentication module for authenticating said venue-based data; and

at least one transmitter for wirelessly transmitting said venue-based data to at least one hand held device through a wireless telecommunications network, in response to authenticating said venue-based data via said at least one authentication module, in order to permit said venue-based data to be accessible via said at least one hand held device at locations remote to said at least one venue.

34. The system of claim 33 further comprising permitting said venue-based data to be accessible via said at least one hand held device.

35. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises video data.

36. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises audio data.

37. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises video data and audio data.

38. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises at least one video replay.

39. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises team information.

40. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises sports statistics.

41. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data includes merchandise information.

42. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data includes concession information.

43. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises advertisements.

44. The system of claim 33 wherein said venue-based data comprises promotional information.

45. The system of claim 33 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a cellular telephone.

46. The system of claim 33 wherein said at least one hand held device comprises a laptop computer.

48. The system of claim 33 wherein said at least one venue comprises a sports venue.

49. The system of claim 33 where said at least one venue comprises a racing venue.

51. The system of claim 33 wherein said at least one venue comprises an entertainment venue.

52. The system of claim 33 wherein acquiring venue-based data from said at least one venue further comprises acquiring said venue-based data utilizing at least one video camera.

53. A system for wirelessly providing venue-based data to at least one hand held device, said system comprising:

at least one venue from which venue-based data is acquirable;

at least one authentication module for authenticating at least one hand held device for the delivery of said venue-based data to said at least one hand held device; and

at least one transmitter for wirelessly transmitting said venue-based data to said at least one hand held device through a wireless telecommunications network, in response to authenticating said at least one hand held device via said at least one authentication module, in order to permit said venue-based data to be accessible via said at least one hand held device at locations remote to said at least one venue.

54. The system of claim 53 further comprising accessing said venue-based data via said at least one hand held device.

55. The system of claim 53 wherein authenticating said at least one hand held device comprises authenticating a particular user of said at least one hand held device for the delivery of said venue-based data to said at least one hand held device.

56. The system of claim 53 wherein said venue-based data comprises video data.

57. The system of claim 53 wherein said venue-based data comprises audio data.

58. The system of claim 53 wherein said venue-based data comprises a video data and audio data.

59. The system of claim 53 wherein said venue-based data comprises at least one video replay.
