Abstract

Photo/video is geo tagged with GPS coordinates corresponding to the place of capture of said photo/video. ‘Geo-information’ metadata corresponding to GPS coordinates is automatically generated and attached to corresponding photo/video. The ‘geo-information’ metadata comprises of date &time of capture, geo information metadata such as local weather, local attractions, local events etc. at the time of capture of corresponding photo/video. According to another aspect, a search engine is provided with means to crawl through one or more database comprising of ‘geo-information’ metadata attached to photos/videos and generate result comprising of photos/videos with ‘geo-information’ metadata corresponding/relevant to query input. According to another aspect, present invention discloses apparatus, means and methods to attach one or more local advertisements to photos/videos and display advertisement in conjunction with corresponding photo/video on communication devices.

Claims

1. A method of automatically adding metadata to photo and video comprising of:

1) photo and video geo tagged with GPS coordinates;

     2) geo-information database containing geo-information metadata comprising of local information corresponding to multitude of GPS coordinates;

     3) means for automatic addition of geo-information metadata corresponding to GPS coordinates of geo tagged photo and video.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein means is provided to add time and date stamp is to photo and video.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein geo-information metadata comprises of physical address corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in geo tag.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein the geo information metadata comprises of local weather corresponding to GPS coordinates and time &

date stamp of photo and video.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein the geo information metadata comprises of local events corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in the geo tag.

6. The method of claim 1 wherein the geo information metadata comprises of local attractions corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in the geo tag.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein the geo-information metadata is added to photo and video at the time of capture of said photo and video.

8. The method of claim 1 wherein the geo-information metadata is added to photo and video at tag at the time of upload of said photo and video onto communication device.

9. The method of claim 1 wherein the geo-information metadata is added to photo and video at the time of upload of said photo and video onto a web server.

10. The method of claim 1 wherein geo-information database is saved in one or more GPS satellites.

11. The method of claim 1 wherein geo-information database is saved in one or more web servers.

12. A method of performing electronic search for photo and video amongst an electronic collection of photos and videos comprising:

1) photos and videos geo tagged with GPS coordinates;

     2) geo-information database containing geo information metadata comprising local information corresponding to multitude of GPS coordinates;

     3) means for automatic addition of geo-information metadata to photo and video corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in geo-tag;

     4) query input into search engine;

     5) means for search engine to crawl through one or more database comprising geo-information metadata attached to photos and videos; and

     6) means for search engine to generate search result based on relevancy of geo-information metadata attached to photos and videos to query input.

13. The method of claim 12 wherein means is provided to add time and date stamp to photo and video.

14. The method of claim 12 wherein geo-information metadata comprises of physical address corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in geo tag.

15. The method of claim 12 wherein the geo information metadata comprises of local weather corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in the geo tag.

16. The method of claim 12 wherein the geo information metadata comprises of local events corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in the geo tag.

17. The method of claim 12 wherein the geo information metadata comprises of local attractions corresponding to GPS coordinates contained in the geo tag.

18. The method of claim 12 wherein photos and videos contained in search result generated in response to query is sorted according to relevancy of geo-information metadata with respect to query input.

19. The method of claim 12 wherein photos and videos contained in search result generated in response to query is sorted according to the time of capture.

20. A system to provide advertisements to communication devices comprising:

1) geo tagged photo and video database;

     2) advertisement database wherein advertisement is geo tagged with GPS coordinates corresponding to location of corresponding business;

     3) means to pair advertisements with photos and videos with corresponding geo tags;

     4) means to transmit and display advertisement on communication devices.

21. The system of claim 20 wherein GPS coordinates of advertisement correspond to location of corresponding business.

22. The system of claim 20 wherein GPS coordinates of advertisement correspond to GPS coordinates of target photos and videos to which attachment of advertisement is desired.
