Abstract

A system and method are disclosed. In a particular embodiment, the system includes a repository configured to store information comprising classification components. The information is received from a plurality of locations where the information is captured from one or more radio frequency identification (RFID) tags at each of the plurality of locations. Each of the one or more RFID tags is associated with at least one item. The repository is also configured to store market data comprising at least one geographic restriction associated with the at least one item.

Claims

1. A system comprising:

a repository configured to store information comprising classification components, the information received from a plurality of locations including a first site and a second site where the information is captured from one or more radio frequency identification (RFID) tags at each of the plurality of locations, each of the one or more RFID tags associated with at least one item, wherein the repository is configured to store market data comprising at least one geographic restriction associated with the at least one item.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein the geographic restriction identifies where the at least one item can be sold.

3. The system of claim 1, wherein the repository is further configured to store market data related to a first classification component of the information based on market data related to a second classification component of the information.

4. The system of claim 3, wherein the market data is generated based on the received information.

5. The system of claim 4, wherein the generated market data indicates at least one trading market for the first item.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein the generated market data related to the second classification component comprises product information related to the first item.

7. The system of claim 1, wherein the at least one item comprises a container of at least one product.

8. An interface to a repository, the interface executable by a computer and comprising:

logic to display information stored in the repository, the information comprising classification components, the information received from a plurality of locations including a first site and a second site where the information is captured from one or more radio frequency identification (RFID) tags at each of the sites, each of the one or more RFID tags associated with at least one item, wherein the information includes transactional data comprising substitute information.

9. The interface to the repository of claim 8, wherein the substitute information identifies one or more substitute items that can be substituted for the at least one item.

10. The interface to the repository of claim 8, wherein the transactional data includes a replacement restriction identifying a set of vendors of the at least one item.

11. The interface to the repository of claim 10, wherein the one or more substitute items are produced by at least one of the vendors of the set of vendors according to the replacement restriction.

12. A computer-readable storage medium including computer-executable instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause the computer to:

receive information stored in a central repository, the information comprising classification components, the central repository storing information received from a plurality of locations where the information is captured from one or more radio frequency identification (RFID) tags at each of the locations, each of the one or more RFID tags associated with at least one item, the information comprising first information associated with a first item and second information associated with a second item; and

generate data related to a first classification component of the first information based on content derived from the second information associated with the second item.

13. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, further comprising computer-executable instructions that, when executed by the computer, cause the computer to store the generated data at the central repository.

14. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the generated data is generated and stored automatically.

15. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the generated data includes shipping information for the first item.

16. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 15, wherein the content includes shipping status information related to the second item.

17. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 16, wherein the shipping status information indicates a delay in shipping of the second item.

18. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, wherein the generated data includes an increase in price of the first item.

19. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 18, wherein the content includes price information of the second item.

20. The computer-readable storage medium of claim 12, further comprising a search engine that supports fuzzy matching of query terms.
