the controller controls to set start timings of the two disk drives constituting the set identical to each other.

Abstract
To realize a disk array device which suppresses vibrations during HDD spinning-up, there is provided a disk array apparatus, comprising: a plurality of disk drives; and a controller for controlling the plurality of disk drives, the disk array apparatus controlling power of the plurality of disk drives for each disk group including of the plurality of disk drives. The two disk drives included in the same disk group are arranged in sets on one base member. The controller controls to set start timings of the two disk drives constituting the set identical to each other.

a plurality of disk drives; and a controller for controlling the plurality of disk drives, the disk array apparatus controlling power of the plurality of disk drives for each disk group including of the plurality of disk drives, wherein; the disk group includes a first disk group having an even number of disk drives and a second disk group having an odd number of disk drives; the two disk drives included in the first disk group are arranged in sets on one base member; the disk drives included in the second disk group are mounted in a chassis different from a chassis of the disk drives included in the first disk group; and the controller controls to set start timings of the two disk drives constituting the set identical to each other.
