Abstract

A method of providing discovery information of an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap entry point is provided. The method includes listing at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal, creating a Management Object (MO), which connects the ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information and transmitting the created MO to the terminal through an interactive channel.

Claims

1. A method of providing discovery information of an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap entry point, the method comprising:

listing at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal;

creating a Management Object (MO) which connects the ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information; and

transmitting the created MO to the terminal through an interactive channel.

The method of claim 1, wherein the characteristic information comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol Data Cast Key Management System (IPDC KMS) identifier registered by the terminal, an IPDC operator identifier registered by the terminal, a location of the terminal, a network connected to the terminal, a particular ESG, and an identifier of a roaming IPDC KMS and roaming IPDC operator of a roaming partner relating to the IPDC KMS and IPDC operator of the terminal.

3. The method of claim 2, wherein the ESG bootstrap entry point relates to at least two elements of the characteristic information.

4. The method of claim 1, wherein the MO comprises detailed information indicating characteristics of the characteristic information.

5. The method of claim 1, wherein the MO comprises at least two enumerated ESG bootstrap entry points connected to the characteristic information.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the MO provides a relation between a local IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator and a roaming IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator based on characteristic information of each roaming terminal.

7. A method of discovering an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap entry point, the method comprising:

receiving at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal, together with a Management Object (MO), which connects an ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information, through an interactive channel;

determining ESG bootstrap characteristic information desired by the terminal, from said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information; and

selecting an ESG bootstrap entry point corresponding to the desired ESG bootstrap characteristic information in the MO.

The method of claim 7, wherein the characteristic information comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol Data Cast Key Management System (IPDC KMS) identifier registered by the terminal, an IPDC operator identifier registered by the terminal, a location of the terminal, a network connected to the terminal, a particular ESG, and an identifier of a roaming IPDC KMS and roaming IPDC operator of a roaming partner relating to the IPDC KMS and IPDC operator of the terminal.

9. The method of claim 8, wherein the ESG bootstrap entry point relates to at least two elements of the characteristic information.

10. The method of claim 7, wherein the MO comprises detailed information indicating characteristics of the characteristic information.

11. The method of claim 7, wherein the MO comprises at least two enumerated ESG bootstrap entry points connected to the characteristic information.

12. The method of claim 7, wherein the MO provides a relation between a local IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator and a roaming IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator based on characteristic information of each roaming terminal.

13. A method of providing discovery information of an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap entry point, the method comprising:

creating roaming partner information within a roaming coverage area of a terminal and a Management Object (MO) comprising an ESG bootstrap entry point corresponding to the roaming partner information; and

transmitting the created MO to the terminal through an interactive channel.

14. A method of discovering an Electronic Service Guide (ESG) bootstrap entry point, the method comprising:

receiving roaming partner information within a roaming coverage area of a terminal and a Management Object (MO) comprising an ESG bootstrap entry point corresponding to the roaming partner information through an interactive channel; and

selecting an ESG bootstrap entry point for a bootstrap corresponding to movement of an operator to another coverage area.

15. A terminal apparatus for discovering an ESG bootstrap entry point, the terminal apparatus comprising:

an interactive adaptor for receiving at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal, together with an MO, which connects an ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information, through an interactive channel; and

a control block for determining ESG bootstrap characteristic information desired by the terminal, from said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information, and for selecting an ESG bootstrap entry point corresponding to the desired ESG bootstrap characteristic information in the MO.

The terminal apparatus of claim 15, wherein the characteristic information comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol Data Cast Key Management System (IPDC KMS) identifier registered by the terminal, an IPDC operator identifier registered by the terminal, a location of the terminal, a network connected to the terminal, a particular ESG, and an identifier of a roaming IPDC KMS and roaming IPDC operator of a roaming partner relating to the IPDC KMS and IPDC operator of the terminal.

17. The terminal apparatus of claim 16, wherein the ESG bootstrap entry point relates to at least two elements of the characteristic information.

18. The terminal apparatus of claim 15, wherein the MO comprises detailed information indicating characteristics of the characteristic information.

19. The terminal apparatus of claim 15, wherein the MO comprises at least two enumerated ESG bootstrap entry points connected to the characteristic information.

20. The terminal apparatus of claim 15, wherein the MO provides a relation between a local IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator and a roaming IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator based on characteristic information of each roaming terminal.

21. An apparatus for providing discovery information of an ESG bootstrap entry point, the apparatus comprising:

an MO creation block for listing at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information for an ESG bootstrap proper for a status of a terminal, and for creating an MO, which connects the ESG bootstrap entry point with said at least one piece of ESG bootstrap characteristic information; and

a transmission block for transmitting the created MO to the terminal through an interactive channel.

The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the characteristic information comprises at least one of an Internet Protocol Data Cast Key Management System (IPDC KMS) identifier registered by the terminal, an IPDC operator identifier registered by the terminal, a location of the terminal, a network connected to the terminal, a particular ESG, and an identifier of a roaming IPDC KMS and roaming IPDC operator of a roaming partner relating to the IPDC KMS and IPDC operator of the terminal.

23. The apparatus of claim 22, wherein the ESG bootstrap entry point relates to at least two elements of the characteristic information.

24. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the MO comprises detailed information indicating characteristics of the characteristic information.

25. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the MO comprises at least two enumerated ESG bootstrap entry points connected to the characteristic information.

26. The apparatus of claim 21, wherein the MO provides a relation between a local IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator and a roaming IPDC KMS system and an IPDC operator based on characteristic information of each roaming terminal.
