Abstract

An imaging apparatus provided with a function of shooting a moving image and a still image, and capable of displaying an image to be captured on a display unit includes a first display control unit configured to display an confirmation image for checking an in-focus state on the display unit when a moving image is shot; and a second display control unit configured to change the confirmation image for checking an in-focus state displayed on the display unit by the first display control unit when a still image is shot during moving image shooting.

Claims

1. An imaging apparatus including a function of shooting a moving image and a still image, and capable of displaying an image to be captured on a display unit, the imaging apparatus comprising:

a first display control unit configured to display a confirmation image for checking an in-focus state on the display unit when a moving image is shot; and

a second display control unit configured to change the confirmation image for checking an in-focus state displayed on the display unit by the first display control unit when a still image is shot during moving image shooting.

2. The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the second display control unit changes the confirmation image displayed on the display unit by the first display control unit into a different color.

3. The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the second display control unit partially changes the confirmation image displayed on the display unit by the first display control unit.

4. The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a selection unit configured to select whether or not the confirmation image for checking an in-focus state is to be displayed on the display unit when a moving image is shot, wherein the second display control unit displays a confirmation image different from the confirmation image to be displayed on the display unit by the first display control unit when a still image is shot during moving image shooting when the selection unit determines that a confirmation image is not displayed on the display unit.

5. The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the confirmation image is peaking display which displays an extracted or emphasized contour of an object.

6. The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, further comprising:

a detection unit configured to detect an in-focus state; and

a third display control unit configured to change a color of the confirmation image to be displayed on the display unit by the second display control unit according to a detected value by the detection unit.

7. The imaging apparatus according to claim 1, wherein the second display control unit executes processing when a still image shooting shutter button is half-pressed.

8. A method for controlling an imaging apparatus including a function of shooting a moving image and a still image, and capable of displaying an image to be captured on a display unit, the method comprising:

displaying a confirmation image for checking an in-focus state on the display unit when a moving image is shot; and

changing the confirmation image displayed on the display unit when a still image is shot during moving image shooting.

9. The method according to claim 8, wherein the confirmation image displayed on the display unit is changed into a different color when a still image is shot during moving image shooting.

10. The method according to claim 8, wherein the confirmation image displayed on the display unit is partially changed when a still image is shot during moving image shooting.

11. The method according to claim 8, further comprising:

selecting whether or not the confirmation image for checking an in-focus state is displayed on the display unit when a moving image is shot, and

displaying a confirmation image different from the confirmation image to be displayed on the display unit when a still image is shot during moving image shooting when the display unit determines that the confirmation image is not displayed.

12. The method according to claim 8, wherein the confirmation image is peaking display which displays an extracted or emphasized contour of an object.

13. The method for controlling an imaging apparatus according to claim 8, further comprising:

detecting an in-focus state; and

changing the color of the confirmation image to be displayed on the display unit when a still image is shot during moving image shooting according to a detected value of the in-focus state.
