Abstract
A method and system for managing assets includes a controller area network bus having a first end and a second end. One or more sensor systems are connected to the network bus. The sensor systems are connected to one or more assets to obtain at least one of operational data and condition data for the one or more assets. A self-healing bridge is connected to the first end and the second end of the network bus and is adapted to minimize a loss of connectivity in the network bus.

13. A method for minimizing a loss of connectivity in a controller bus area network bus for an asset management system, the method comprising:
