LUMINOUS BODY WITH LED DIES AND PRODUCTION THEREOF
First Claim
1. A luminous body comprising a transparent plastic moulding and LED DIEs, wherein the moulding includes a plurality of indentations, with at least one of the LED DIEs being disposed in at least one of the indentations such that one side of each LED DIE lies approximately flush with an upper side of the moulding, and each LED DIE is connected to an electricity supply via electrical conductors disposed on the moulding.

Abstract
A luminous body comprises a transparent plastic moulding with indentations, and LED DIEs disposed within the indentations. One side of each LED DIE lies approximately flush with an upper side of the moulding, and each LED DIE is connected to an electricity supply via electrical conductors disposed on the moulding. A method for producing such a luminous body is also disclosed.

A luminous body comprising a transparent plastic moulding and LED DIEs, wherein the moulding includes a plurality of indentations, with at least one of the LED DIEs being disposed in at least one of the indentations such that one side of each LED DIE lies approximately flush with an upper side of the moulding, and each LED DIE is connected to an electricity supply via electrical conductors disposed on the moulding.

2. The luminous body according to claim 1, wherein the LED DIEs are fixed in the indentations by a casting compound.

3. A method for producing a luminous body, the method comprising
a) introducing a thermoplastic material into a mould by injection moulding, the mould comprising a negative imprint of a plastic moulding being produced; -
b) removing the plastic moulding from the mould, wherein the removed plastic moulding is transparent and includes a plurality of indentations; c) applying conductor tracks onto the plastic moulding; and d) placing at least one LED DIE into each of the indentations, wherein one side of each LED DIE lies approximately flush with an upper side of the plastic moulding and poles of each LED DIE are in contact with at least one conductor track.

4. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, wherein applying conductor tracks includes applying conductor tracks via a screen printing process.

5. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, wherein applying conductor tracks includes applying conductor tracks onto the plastic moulding on an open side of the indentations.

6. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, wherein applying conductor tracks includes applying conductor tracks onto the plastic moulding on an opposite side of the plastic moulding from an open side of the indentations.

7. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 6, wherein the poles of each LED DIE pass through a bottom of the indentation into which they are respectively placed.

8. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, wherein applying conductor tracks includes applying at least one conductor track to each side of the plastic moulding.

The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 8, wherein for at least one LED, a first pole contacts a first conductor track disposed on the plastic moulding on an open side of the indentations, and a second pole contacts a second conductor track disposed on an opposite side of the plastic moulding.

10. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 31 wherein placing the at least one LED DIE into each of the indentations includes adhesively bonding the at least one LED DIE into each of the indentations.

11. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, further comprising applying a plastic film over at least part of the plastic moulding.

12. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 11, wherein the plastic film is placed as a protective layer over the conductor tracks.

13. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 11, wherein the plastic film includes a reflective layer.

14. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, further comprising applying a reflective layer onto the plastic moulding on the open side of the indentations.

15. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 15, wherein applying the reflective layer includes applying reflective layer via a screen printing process.

16. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 3, further comprising applying a plastic film onto the plastic moulding over the open side of the indentations.

17. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 16, wherein the plastic film is adapted to direct light from the LED DIEs through the bottom of the indentations.

18. The method for producing a luminous body according to claim 16, wherein the plastic film is adapted to permit the LED DIEs to radiate on the open side of the indentations.
