Abstract
The need to have speed control and a higher level of driver awareness on our highways is extremely essential, and will improve our American infrastructure. Safety will increase and fuel consumption will decrease dramatically when the Speed Limit Enforcer is implemented.
The Speed Limit Enforcer consist of receivers, Ground Transmitters, and Satellite Transmitters. These three major components work in conjunction and depend on each other for maxima performance. The Speed Limit Enforcer'"'"'s Receiving Device will be located inside vehicle desired. Ground Transmitters will be located in work zones, school zones, residential areas, truck routes, interstate corridors, US and State highways, in or on Federal, Local, and State Government work vehicles, Law Enforcement and Emergency vehicles, etc.
Ground Transmitters will have all the necessary electronic components and software making it capable of receiving and transmitting speed limit and zone information. Receiving Device will also have all of the necessary electronic components and software making it capable of receiving speed limit and zone information, and translating speed information to engine computer for fuel restriction and releasing of fuel when needed. The Speed Limit Enforcer will prompt and use various signals audibly and visually to insure a higher level of driver awareness.

21. A method of communicating information regarding speed limits, comprising the steps of:

providing a receiver in a vehicle, said receiver having a visual display and audio output; positioning a transmitter along a roadway, wherein said transmitter transmits a signal along a defined section of roadway, and wherein said defined section of roadway has a speed limit; transmitting a signal to said transmitter, wherein said signal is interpreted by said transmitter to define said speed limit for said defined section of roadway to said transmitter; transmitting a signal by said transmitter to said receiver; causing said receiver to receive said signal from said transmitter, wherein said signal is interpreted by said receiver and said receiver visually displays information regarding said speed limit and said receiver outputs audio information regarding said speed limit; and subsequently transmitting a signal communicating a revised speed limit that differs from said speed limit for said defined section of roadway to said transmitter. - View Dependent Claims (22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31)
