Abstract

Apparatus, methods, and computer program products are disclosed that teach methods for establishing context of a subsequent electronic real-time communication. One method detects a connection attempt that is initiated by an instigator-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication that is directed to a target-identifiable. The instigator-identifiable is associated with a first identification characteristic and the target-identifiable is associated with a second identification characteristic. This method subsequently retrieves a reminder reference that is responsive to the first identification characteristic and the second identification characteristic and presents the reminder reference to the target-identifiable. The method also establishes the subsequent electronic real-time communication between the instigator-identifiable and the target-identifiable. The disclosed technology also includes apparatus that perform the methods and program products that contain computer instructions that cause a computer to perform the methods when the computer executes the instructions.

Claims

1. A computer controlled method for establishing context of a subsequent electronic real-time communication, said method comprising:

detecting a connection attempt initiated by an instigator-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication directed to a target-identifiable, said instigator-identifiable associated with a first identification characteristic, said target-identifiable associated with a second identification characteristic;

retrieving a reminder reference responsive to said first identification characteristic and said second identification characteristic;

presenting said reminder reference to said target-identifiable;

establishing said subsequent electronic real-time communication between said instigator-identifiable and said target-identifiable.

2. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising announcing said instigator-identifiable.

3. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising offering said reminder reference to said target-identifiable.

4. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising placing said instigator-identifiable on a delay.

5. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising presenting, to said target-identifiable, supplemental information related to said instigator-identifiable.

6. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising:

detecting an event in a previous electronic real-time communication between said instigator-identifiable and said target-identifiable;

creating said reminder reference responsive to said previous electronic real-time communication; and

storing said reminder reference for retrieval.

7. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising:

detecting an event in said subsequent electronic real-time communication;

creating said reminder reference; and

storing said reminder reference for retrieval.

8. The computer controlled method of claim 1, further comprising offering said target-identifiable the opportunity to record said reminder reference.

9. A computer controlled method, said method comprising:

instigating, by an instigator-identifiable, a connection attempt with a target-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication, said instigator-identifiable associated with a first identification characteristic, said target-identifiable associated with a second identification characteristic

retrieving a reminder reference responsive to said first identification characteristic and said second identification characteristic;

presenting said reminder reference to said instigator-identifiable; and

initiating said connection attempt at completion of the presenting.

10. The computer controlled method of claim 9, further comprising:

offering said reminder reference to said instigator-identifiable; and

receiving an offer acceptance from said instigator-identifiable and wherein said presenting is responsive to the receiving.

11. An apparatus having a central processing unit (CPU) and a memory coupled to said CPU for establishing context of a subsequent electronic real-time communication, said apparatus comprises:

a detection logic configured to detect a connection attempt initiated by an instigator-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication directed to a target-identifiable, said instigator-identifiable associated with a first identification characteristic, said target-identifiable associated with a second identification characteristic;

a retrieval logic configured to retrieve a reminder reference responsive to the detection logic, said first identification characteristic and said second identification characteristic;

a presentation logic, responsive to the retrieval logic, configured to present said reminder reference to said target-identifiable;

a connection logic configured to establish said subsequent electronic real-time communication between said instigator-identifiable and said target-identifiable.

12. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising an announcement logic configured to announce said instigator-identifiable and responsive to retrieval of said reminder reference.

13. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising an offer logic, responsive to the retrieval logic and configured to offer said reminder reference to said target-identifiable.

14. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising a communication hold logic, responsive to the detection logic, configured to place said instigator-identifiable on a delay.

15. The apparatus of claim 11, wherein the presentation logic is further configured to present, to said target-identifiable, supplemental information related to said instigator-identifiable.

16. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising:

an event logic configured to detect an event in a previous electronic real-time communication between said instigator-identifiable and said target-identifiable;

a reminder creation logic, responsive to the event logic, configured to create said reminder reference for said previous electronic real-time communication; and

a storage logic configured to store said reminder reference for retrieval.

17. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising:

an event logic configured to detect an event in said subsequent electronic real-time communication;

a reminder creation logic configured to create said reminder reference; and

a storage logic configured to store said reminder reference for retrieval.

18. The apparatus of claim 11, further comprising:

an option logic configured to offer said target-identifiable the opportunity to record said reminder reference.

19. An apparatus having a central processing unit (CPU) and a memory coupled to said CPU, said apparatus comprises:

a communication initiation logic configured to enable an instigator-identifiable to instigate a connection attempt with a target-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication, said instigator-identifiable associated with a first identification characteristic, said target-identifiable associated with a second identification characteristic;

a retrieval logic configured to retrieve a reminder reference responsive to said first identification characteristic and said second identification characteristic;

a presentation logic configured to present said reminder reference to said instigator-identifiable; and

a connection logic configured to initiate said connection attempt at completion of the presenting.

20. The apparatus of claim 19, further comprising:

a query logic configured to offer said reminder reference to said instigator-identifiable; and

an acceptance logic configured to receive an offer acceptance from said instigator-identifiable and wherein said presenting is responsive to the receiving.

21. A computer program product comprising for establishing context of a subsequent electronic real-time communication, said computer readable code comprising:

a computer-usable data carrier providing instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause said computer to perform a method comprising;

detecting a connection attempt initiated by an instigator-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication directed to a target-identifiable, said instigator-identifiable associated with a first identification characteristic, said target-identifiable associated with a second identification characteristic;

retrieving a reminder reference responsive to said first identification characteristic and said second identification characteristic;

presenting said reminder reference to said target-identifiable;

establishing said subsequent electronic real-time communication between said instigator-identifiable and said target-identifiable.

22. The computer program product of claim 21, further comprising:

detecting an event in a previous electronic real-time communication between said instigator-identifiable and said target-identifiable;

creating said reminder reference responsive to said previous electronic real-time communication; and

storing said reminder reference for retrieval.

23. The computer program product of claim 21, further comprising:

detecting an event in said subsequent electronic real-time communication;

creating said reminder reference; and

storing said reminder reference for retrieval.

24. A computer program product comprising, said computer readable code comprising:

a computer-usable data carrier providing instructions that, when executed by a computer, cause said computer to perform a method comprising;

instigating, by an instigator-identifiable, a connection attempt with a target-identifiable for a subsequent electronic real-time communication, said instigator-identifiable associated with a first identification characteristic, said target-identifiable associated with a second identification characteristic;

locating a reminder reference responsive to said first identification characteristic and said second identification characteristic;

presenting said reminder reference to said instigator-identifiable; and

initiating said connection attempt at completion of the presenting.

25. The computer program product of claim 24, further comprising:

offering said reminder reference to said instigator-identifiable; and

receiving an offer acceptance from said instigator-identifiable and wherein said presenting is responsive to the receiving.
