Abstract

A method for making a Fiber deployment assembly includes creating a curvature in a conduit; pumping one or more fibers into the conduit; and securing at least one of the one or more fibers to a shortest pathway within the conduit and Fiber deployment assembly.

Claims

1. A Fiber deployment assembly comprising:

a conduit; and

one or more fibers disposed within the conduit in a consistent position therein.

2. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 1 wherein the conduit is disposed in a curved condition.

3. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 2 wherein the curved condition is a helical condition.

4. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 1 wherein the fiber includes one or more fibers bragg gratings therein.

5. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 1 wherein at least one of the one or more fibers is affixed to the conduit.

6. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 5 wherein the cable further includes a hardenable material therein to affix the fiber.

7. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 6 wherein the hardenable material is a material containing epoxy.

8. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 6 wherein the hardenable material is thinned with a thinner.

9. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 8 wherein the thinner is acetone.

10. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 6 wherein hardenable material is configured as a coating on an inside surface of the conduit.

11. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 10 wherein the coating defines an open passageway that is receptive to a communication fluid.

12. The Fiber deployment assembly as claimed in claim 10 wherein hardenable material is configured as a plurality of stacked coatings on the inside surface of the conduit.

13. A tubular having a Fiber deployment assembly in operable communication therewith and wherein the Fiber deployment assembly is positioned relative to the tubular to cause a fiber disposed therein to be located at a greatest distance from the tubular in a radially inward direction from the tubular to create a smallest bend radius for the fiber.

14. A method for making a RTCI cable comprising:

creating a curvature in a conduit;

pumping one or more fibers into the conduit; and

securing at least one of the one or more fibers to a shortest pathway within the conduit.

15. The method as claimed in claim 14 wherein the creating is forming a helix.

16. The method as claimed in claim 14 wherein the securing includes pumping a hardenable material into the conduit.

17. The method as claimed in claim 16 wherein the method further includes pumping a gas through the conduit after pumping the hardenable material.

18. The method as claimed in claim 14 wherein the pumping the gas includes facilitating evaporation of a thinner in the hardenable material.

19. The method as claimed in claim 14 wherein the creating includes causing a shortest pathway through the conduit to be located as far as possible from a mounting surface for the RTCI cable to a tubular.

20. The method as claimed in claim 14 wherein the method further includes heating the conduit above a solder melting temperature and injecting a liquid solder into the conduit.
