Abstract

A consumer is provided with continuity of medical care by being prompted to transfer data to a recipient, upon completion of the consumer'"'"'s interaction with a brokerage system. The data obtained during the interactions is transferred to one or more recipients selected by the consumer.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented method of providing a consumer of services with continuity of medical care, the method comprises:

prompting the consumer to transfer data to a recipient, upon completion of the consumer'"'"'s interaction with a brokerage system; and

transferring data obtained during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system to one or more recipients selected by the consumer.

2. The method of claim 1 wherein the data is transferred after the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

3. The method of claim 1 wherein the data is transferred during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

4. The method of claim 1 wherein at least one of the interactions comprises:

a consultation between a service provider having a service provider profile that satisfies at least some attributes in a set of attributes that define a suitable service provider and the consumer of services.

5. The method of claim 1 wherein transferring data comprises:

providing a graphical user interface that when rendered on a display, displays one or more channels to transfer the data; and

upon selection of one of the channels,

transferring the data to the recipient using the selected channel.

6. The method of claim 5 wherein the graphical user interface is capable of being accessed by the consumer of services during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

7. The method of claim 1 wherein transferring data comprises transferring data selected by the consumer of services.

8. The method of claim 5 wherein the channel electronically sends the data to the recipient.

9. The method of claim 5 wherein the channel stores the data in a format accessible by the recipient.

10. The method of claim 5 wherein the channel sends the data to a device capable of faxing the data to the recipient.

11. The method of claim 5 wherein the channel initiates a physical delivery of the data to the recipient.

12. The method of claim 1 wherein the recipient is the consumer of services.

13. The method of claim 1 wherein the recipient is a provider of services.

14. The method of claim 13 wherein the provider of services is associated with the brokerage system.

15. A computer program product residing on a computer readable medium for providing a consumer with continuity of medical care, the computer program product comprising instructions for causing a computer to:

prompt the consumer to transfer data to a recipient, upon completion of the consumer'"'"'s interaction with a brokerage system; and

transfer data obtained during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system to one or more recipients selected by the consumer.

16. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the data is transferred after the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

17. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the data is transferred during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

18. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein at least one of the interactions comprises:

a consultation between a service provider having a service provider profile that satisfies at least some attributes in a set of attributes that define a suitable service provider and the consumer of services.

19. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein instructions for causing a computer to transfer data comprise instructions to:

provide a graphical user interface that when rendered on a display, displays one or more channels to transfer the data; and

upon selection of one of the channels,

transfer the data to the recipient using the selected channel.

20. The computer program product of claim 19 wherein the graphical user interface is capable of being accessed by the consumer of services during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

21. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the data transferred is selected by the consumer of services.

22. The computer program product of claim 19 wherein the channel electronically sends the data to the recipient.

23. The computer program product of claim 19 wherein the channel stores the data in a format accessible by the recipient.

24. The computer program product of claim 19 wherein the channel sends the data to a device capable of faxing the data to the recipient.

25. The computer program product of claim 19 wherein the channel initiates a physical delivery of the data to the recipient.

26. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the recipient is the consumer of services.

27. The computer program product of claim 15 wherein the recipient is a provider of services.

28. The computer program product of claim 27 wherein the provider of services is associated with the brokerage system.

29. An apparatus comprising:

a processor; and

a computer program product residing on a computer readable medium for providing a consumer of services with continuity of medical care, the computer program product comprising instructions for causing the processor to;

prompt the consumer to transfer data to a recipient, upon completion of the consumer'"'"'s interaction with a brokerage system; and

transfer data obtained during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system to one or more recipients selected by the consumer.

30. The apparatus of claim 29 wherein the data is transferred after the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

31. The apparatus of claim 29 wherein the data is transferred during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system

provide a graphical user interface that when rendered on a display, displays one or more channels to transfer the data; and

transfer the data to the recipient using the selected channel.

34. The apparatus of claim 29 wherein the data transferred is selected by the consumer of services.

35. The apparatus of claim 33 wherein the graphical user interface is capable of being accessed by the consumer of services during the consumer'"'"'s one or more interactions with the brokerage system.

36. The apparatus of claim 33 wherein the channel electronically sends the data to the recipient.

37. The apparatus of claim 33 wherein the channel stores the data in a format accessible by the recipient.

38. The apparatus of claim 33 wherein the channel sends the data to a device capable of faxing the data to the recipient.

39. The apparatus of claim 33 wherein the channel initiates a physical delivery of the data to the recipient.
