1. A detection test assembly for detecting a substance in a sample, the substance having a first substance portion and a second substance portion, comprising:

  • a reaction field comprising a first acceptor, wherein said first acceptor is mobile and has a visualization property, and wherein a specific binding affinity exists between said first acceptor and the first portion of said substance such that a first acceptor-substance complex may be formed; and

    a detection field comprising a test field, and at least a first control field, wherein the test field has a second acceptor, wherein said second acceptor is immobilized on the test field and wherein a specific binding affinity exists between at least one of;

    (i) said second acceptor; and

    at least one of (a) the second portion of said substance and (b) a portion of the first acceptor-substance complex formed by first acceptor and the first portion of said substance; and

    wherein the first control field is connected to the test field, wherein the first control field has an immobilized third acceptor, and wherein said third acceptor has a specific binding affinity for a ubiquitous sample component, other than the substance to be detected by the detection test assembly.
