Abstract

A computer-implemented system that can support executing a third party module with Web Servers comprises one or more web server instances, a third party module that interacts with the one or more web server instances, and an execution environment that contains a web server wrapper instance that can encapsulate a web server instance of the one or more web server instances. The web server wrapper instance is associated with a web server configuration tool that can configure the one or more web server instances based on the third party module.

Claims

1. A computer-implemented system to support executing a third party module with Web Servers, comprising:

one or more web server instances;

a third party module that interacts with the one or more web server instances; and

an execution environment that contains a web server wrapper instance that can encapsulate a web server instance of the one or more web server instances, wherein the web server wrapper instance is associated with a web server configuration tool that can configure the one or more web server instances based on the third party module.

2. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

each of the one or more web server instances is associated with a web server configuration file.

3. The system according to claim 2, wherein:

the web server configuration tool operates to read and parse the web server configuration file in to objects.

4. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

the third party module is a web server plugin and works together with one or more application servers.

5. The system according to claim 4, wherein:

the one or more application servers are Weblogic Servers.

6. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

the web server wrapper instance encapsulates the web server instance in an object oriented fashion.

7. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

the web server instance is one of;

an Appache Http Server;

a Sun java System Web Server,

a Microsoft IIS.

8. The system according to claim 1, wherein:

the execution environment is a testing environment.

9. A method to support executing a third party module with Web Servers, comprising:

encapsulating a web server instance by a web server wrapper instance;

configuring the web server instance based on a third party module through the web server wrapper instance;

operating on the web server instance from the web server wrapper instance, wherein the web server instance interacts with the third party module.

10. The method according to claim 9, wherein:

the web server instances is associated with a web server configuration file.

11. The method according to claim 10, further comprising:

reading and parsing the web server configuration file in to objects.

12. The method according to claim 9, wherein:

the third party module is a web server plugin and works together with one or more application servers.

13. The method according to claim 12, wherein:

the one or more application servers are Weblogic Servers.

14. The method according to claim 9, wherein:

the web server wrapper instance encapsulates the web server instance in an object oriented fashion.

15. The method according to claim 9, wherein:

the web server instance is one of;

an Appache Http Server;

a Sun java System Web Server,

a Microsoft IIS.

16. The method according to claim 9, wherein:

the execution environment is a testing environment.

17. A machine readable medium having instructions stored thereon that when executed cause a system to:

encapsulating a web server instance by a web server wrapper instance;

configuring the web server instance based on a third party module through the web server wrapper instance;

operating on the web server instance from the web server wrapper instance, wherein the web server instance interacts with the third party module.

18. A computer-implemented system to support testing a third party module with Web Servers, comprising:

one or more web server instances, wherein each of one or more web server instances is associated with a web server configuration file;

a third party module that interacts with the one or more web server instances, wherein the third party module also interacts with one or more application servers; and

a testing environment that contains a web server wrapper instance that can encapsulate a web server instance of the one or more web server instances, wherein the web server wrapper instance is associated with a web server configuration tool that can read and parse the web server configuration file and configure the one or more web server instances based on the third party module.
