Abstract
The energy required for equilibrating the charges of at least two cells in series in an energy storage device is introduced by way of a first charge path via an alternating voltage bus to the cell with the lowest cell voltage (UZX). The alternating voltage bus is supplied with power from an energy storage device by way of a DC converter and an AC converter. A second charge path can alternatively connect the DC converter connector which is connected to the AC converter, to a series circuit of several cells, in particular, all cells of the energy storage device.
