- a vascular access device further comprisinga rotationally activated flow control valve, said flow control valve comprising,a body including a distal adapter and a proximal adapter defining a lumen extending therethrough; and
a septum, wherein said septum at least substantially seals said lumen extending through said body;
wherein rotation of one of said proximal adapter or said distal adapter in relation to the other results in the activation of said valve.
