an electrode configured to be advanced toward a wall of the blood vessel lumen; and
a sensor configured to detect the relative positions of the nerve tissue outside of the blood vessel and the electrode within the blood vessel lumen.

deploying a delivery catheter through a lumen of a blood vessel to a location proximate a target nerve tissue site outside the blood vessel; advancing an electrical stimulation electrode from within the blood vessel lumen toward the nerve tissue; energizing the electrode to deliver electrical stimulation from within the blood vessel lumen to the nerve tissue; determining an efficacy of the nerve tissue stimulation; and chronically deploying the electrode within the blood vessel lumen adjacent the nerve tissue if the efficacy of the nerve tissue stimulation meets or exceeds a threshold efficacy. - View Dependent Claims (33)
