Abstract

An administration of telephony applications conventionally using domain controller-based access authorization methods is provided such to eliminate the need for these methods. In a network where terminal devices are connected to time division multiplexed or packet-oriented network components, a terminal device establishes a communication link to a terminal device-specific adaptation for telephony applications via an interface for telephony applications, and the authorization for importing data is verified. Data is imported via the communication link to affected applications or affected services of the network. Any terminal device can be used to import the data and that no special authorizations are required for access as the proprietary/license keys that are exchanged between the terminal device and the exchange and the domain controller provide protection from unauthorized access to the exchange and to the local network connected thereto. For accessing the exchange and the domain controller, only one authorization check method is required.

10. A method for importing data into a network, in which terminals (EG) are connected to circuit-oriented and packet-oriented network components, comprising:

establishing a communication link to a terminal-specific TAPI Service Provider from a terminal via the circuit-oriented network component and via an assigned interface for telephone applications,

verifying an authorization for importing data by the circuit-oriented network component; and

sending the data via the communication link to an affected application or an affected service of the network.

11. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein the data is verified prior to being forwarded to the application or the service.

12. The method as claimed in claim 11, wherein the data is buffered prior to being forwarded.

13. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein the plausibility of the data is verified before it is forwarded or buffered.

14. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein the data is for configuration or administration of applications and services of the network.

15. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein the data is for configuration or administration of applications or services of the network.

16. The method as claimed in claim 10, wherein the data is forwarded for configuration of the relevant services of the network via a file transfer protocol based on the data of assigned methods.

17. A communication system for a network, comprising:

a circuit-oriented network component that verifies an authorization for importing data into the circuit-oriented network component;

a terminal connected to the circuit-oriented network component;

a packet-oriented network component;

a terminal-specific TAPI Service Provider connected to the packet-oriented network component; and

a communication link from the terminal to the terminal-specific TAPI via the circuit-oriented network component (PBX) and via an interface for telephone applications,

wherein the connection link is established via telephone number entered at the terminal,

wherein the data is sent from the terminal-specific TAPI to the terminal based on the authorization via the circuit-oriented network component, and

wherein the data is for an application or a service of the network.

18. The communication system as claimed in claim 17, wherein the terminal-specific TAPI Service Provider is implemented by a program product.
