Abstract

According to an embodiment, a location based notification method in a H-SLP (Home-SUPL Location Platform) receiving, by the H-SLP, a request for positioning of a roaming terminal; transmitting a session initialization message including a notification mode parameter to the roaming terminal when one or more of the location-based notification and verification are required as a result of checking a privacy of the roaming terminal; requesting, an initial location of the roaming terminal to a V-SLP (Visited-SUPL Location Platform) thereby to receive the initial location; and performing a positioning process to calculate the location of the roaming terminal if the required quality for the received initial location of the roaming terminal is not satisfied.

Claims

1. A location based notification method in a H-SLP (Home-SUPL Location Platform) for calculating and providing a location of a roaming terminal according to a client'"'"'s request, the method comprising:

receiving, by the H-SLP, a request for positioning of a roaming terminal;

transmitting, by the H-SLP, a session initialization message including a notification mode parameter to the roaming terminal when one or more of the location-based notification and verification are required as a result of checking a privacy of the roaming terminal;

requesting, by H-SLP, an initial location of the roaming terminal to a V-SLP (Visited-SUPL Location Platform) thereby to receive the initial location;

performing, by the H-SLP, a positioning process to calculate the location of the roaming terminal if the required quality for the received initial location of the roaming terminal is not satisfied;

transmitting, by the H-SLP, a session notification message including a notification element to the terminal if the calculation of the location of the roaming terminal is completed;

receiving, by the H-SLP, a session notification response message including a notification response by the user of the roaming terminal from the roaming terminal; and

transmitting, by the H-SLP, the location of the roaming terminal in response to the received session notification response message.

3. The method of claim 1, wherein the notification mode parameter further indicates a normal notification and verification.

4. The method of claim 3, wherein the one or more of the normal notification and verification are performed for a user-based notification and verification.

5. The method of claim 1, further comprising:

transferring an end message to the terminal from the H-SLP before transmitting the location of the roaming terminal after receiving the session notification response message.

6. The method of claim 1, wherein the session initialization message is a SUPL INIT message, the session notification message is a SUPL NOTIFY message, and the session notification response message is a SUPL NOTIFY RESPONSE message.

7. The method of claim 5, wherein the end message is a SUPL END message.

8. The method of claim 1, wherein the notification mode parameter is a Notification Mode parameter, the notification element is a Notification parameter, and the notification response is a Notification Response parameter.
