FIXATION APPARATUS FOR A MEDICAL DEVICE
First Claim
1. A fixation apparatus for attaching a medical device to a patient, the fixation apparatus comprising:
- an attachment feature configured to cooperate with the medical device and at least one non-suture anchoring device to facilitate attachment of the medical device to the patient, the attachment feature including;
an anchor receiving portion having a first dimension and including two ends, the anchor receiving portion being configured to receive the at least one non-suture anchoring device, andfirst and second anchor retaining ends respectively disposed adjacent one of the ends of the anchor receiving portion, each of the anchor retaining ends having a second dimension greater than the first dimension of the anchor receiving portion, thereby inhibiting the anchor receiving portion from dislodging from the at least one non-suture anchoring device when the at least one non-suture anchoring device is received by the anchor receiving portion.
