1. A collapsible tissue anchor device, comprising:
- a sleeve having a lumen extending therethrough and at least one wall portion adapted to provide a collapsing region for the sleeve; and
an elongate member having at least one head portion and a leading end adapted for insertion and travel through at least a portion of the lumen, whereby force exerted by the head portion on the sleeve causes the sleeve to collapse around the collapsing region.

Abstract
Collapsible tissue anchor device and method for inserting into a tissue structure in a first non-collapsed configuration and collapsing into a second collapsed configuration. A sleeve is provided having a bolt or shank extending through an interior. The bolt or shank exerts a force upon the sleeve to collapse it thereby forming flanges that engage or abut tissue. A sling, suture, mesh or the like may be coupled to a portion of the anchor to support tissue or an organ.

10. A collapsible tissue anchor device, comprising:
-
a sleeve having a lumen extending therethrough, the sleeve having; a plurality of slots provided along longitudinal length of the sleeve to define a plurality of sleeve segments; a living hinge defined across the plurality of sleeve segments; and an elongate member having at least one head portion and a leading end adapted for insertion and travel through at least a portion of the lumen, whereby force exerted by the head portion on the sleeve causes the sleeve to collapse around the living hinges. - View Dependent Claims (11, 12, 13, 14, 15)

16. A method of deploying a collapsible tissue anchor, comprising:
-
providing an anchor device including a sleeve and an elongate member, with a portion of the elongate member adapted to abut a portion of the sleeve to exert a collapsing force on the sleeve; deploying the anchor device to a target body tissue location, the target body tissue having a first tissue side and a second tissue side; penetrating the body tissue to create an opening through the body tissue; inserting a first portion of the sleeve in an elongate insertion configuration through the body tissue to the second tissue side; and abuttal engaging the elongate member against the sleeve to at least partially collapse the first portion of the sleeve on the second tissue side, thereby securing the anchor device at the target body tissue location. - View Dependent Claims (17, 18, 19, 20)
