Abstract

A system and method of creating a market for sales leads and financing amongst merchants of like wares that includes a central registry for receiving information about prospective buyers and their finances for compiling and communicating an anonymous sales lead including the prospective buyer'"'"'s finances to merchants in the same line of business. The leads are auctioned or sold anonymously to interested merchants that receive the contact information for the prospective buyer but not the identity of the initial merchant.

Claims

1. A system for buying and selling sales leads amongst merchants of like wares comprising:

a deal giver user interface for communicating buyer data about a prospective customer of said deal giver to a central registry;

a central registry comprising a server configured to store buyer data and a database of anonymous leads; and

a deal seeker user interface for viewing anonymous leads from said central registry and communicating an offer to purchase buyer data sufficient to identify said prospective customer.

2. The system of claim 1, wherein said deal giver interface is a client server in communication with said server of said central registry.

3. The system of claim 2, wherein said deal seeker user interface is a client server in communication with said server of said central registry.

4. The system of claim 1, wherein said central registry maintains a computer bulletin board of anonymous leads searchable by a user of said deal seeker user interface.

5. The system of claim 1, wherein said central registry includes software allowing said anonymous leads to be searched by proximity to an inputted zip code.

6. The system of claim 5, wherein said central registry is configured to accept offers to purchase anonymous leads from said deal seeker user interface.

7. The system of claim 6, wherein said central registry is configured to communicate acceptance of offers to purchase anonymous leads to said deal seeker user interface.

8. The system of claim 7, wherein said central registry is configured to accept payment for said anonymous leads from a user of said deal seeker user interface.

9. The system of claim 8, wherein said central registry is configured to communicate sale of said anonymous lead to the deal giver user interface from which the lead data of said anonymous lead originated.

10. A system for buying and selling car sales leads amongst car dealerships in an open market comprising:

a deal giver user interface for communicating buyer data about a prospective customer of said deal giver to a central registry, said buyer data including a credit report rating and a geographical location;

a central registry comprising a server configured to store buyer data and a database of anonymous leads including the credit report rating and geographical location of said prospective customer; and

a deal seeker user interface for viewing anonymous leads from said central registry and communicating an offer to purchase buyer data sufficient to identify said prospective customer.

11. The system of claim 10, wherein said deal giver user interface and said deal seeker user interface comprise client servers configured to communicate with said central registry server via the Internet.

12. The system of claim 11, wherein said client server users are registered subscribers of said system and configured to allow said central registry to communicate with said client servers.

13. The system of claim 12, wherein said central registry is configured to communicate anonymous leads to client servers registered to receive anonymous leads matching predetermined criteria of buyer data.

14. The system of claim 13, wherein said predetermined criteria includes geographic location and credit score.

15. The system of claim 14, wherein said central registry receives offers for purchase of anonymous leads and communicates acceptance or rejection of said offers.

16. The system of claim 15, where said central registry receives payment for accepted offers for the purchase of leads and communicates sale of the leads to the deal giver user interface responsible for communicating the buyer data matching the lead.

17. The system of claim 16, wherein said central registry includes a website accessible by the client servers for viewing account information associated with registration information associated with said client servers.

18. A method of buying and selling sales leads in an open market of merchants of like wares comprising:

accepting buyer data about a prospective customer from a deal giver at a central registry;

creating an anonymous lead based on said buyer data at said central registry;

providing said anonymous lead from said central registry to a plurality of deal seekers;

receiving offers at the central registry for purchase of said from interested deal seekers;

communicating acceptance by the central registry of a winning offer to the deal seeker responsible for the winning offer;

providing buyer data from the central registry including contact information to said winning offer deal seeker;

accepting payment at the central registry for said lead from said winning offer deal seeker; and

providing payment to said deal giver that provided the buyer data to said central registry.

19. The method of claim 18, running the credit score of a prospective buyer and communicating the credit score to a central registry.

20. The method of claim 19, wherein said merchants are car dealerships and said buyer data includes credit score.
